Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Are they all carbon fiber or are some aluminum? And is carbon fiber that much lighter than aluminum?

16.7lbs w/relatively heavy crank/bb setup (FSA SLK w/Crank Bros Cyan Isis BB), Ritchey Comp Bars (could go wcs), Neuvation R28 SL3s (~1540g), could use a lighter fork Easton EC90SLX/Ritchey WCS Carbon...

But it's plenty light for me.

The material doesn't matter, the way it's manipulated and it's construction does.

A De Rosa Avant carbon frame weighs a crap load more than one of my aluminum Bianchi XL EV frames. The Bianchi was designed to be as light and as stiff as possible. With strength and comfort taking a back seat. The De Rosa is made to be stiff, strong and comfortable. Weight Weenie ridicule be damned.
