Nooooo! Please put a proper S-Works crank on there. It is a compliment btw. It looks great, better than any other of Venges I have seen.

O.K. you got me thinking....

Herbie53 06-25-11 02:37 PM

The Venge is hot, but would be surface of the sun hot if it was black. :-P

The above is the mountain version on the scale. The Road version weighs less.

I second the idea of a S-works crankset.
Do it.

sbxx1985 06-25-11 05:16 PM

Not normally a fan of white bikes, but this is pretty hot.

Are these the new Boyd decals? I didn't like the old ones.

Yes, new decals.

Their website claims...Weight with Standard rings - 635g (172.5mm crank including all hardware)

Where did they put the weight at? Must be heavy rings. Keep in mind that manufacture's weights aren't always accurate, and that could include BB possibly. I use a Lightning crank, basically the same thing, and it was 577g with Stronglight rings, and a Zipp BB, but mine is a compact. Either way it will be lighter, and better than a Rotor crank.

BTW, one last time for this thread. I suppose I will announce it here. My SLC is dead so here is one last pic. Waiting on my new 2011 S2 to replace it with. So was she hot, while she was with us? Notice the Lightning crank. If you don't like this bike no worries, you'll never see it again. :(

It's hot.

Did you get the black S2?

Thank you. Not sure, I'll find out when it gets here. I told them I wanted black, but they didn't specify. They just told me a 2011 S2 was on the way.

The chainrings suck. 157g (Standard 130mm set with bolts) mine are 50g less than that. They better be stiff as concrete for that much weight.

Crack in the top tube. Not sure if my crash caused it. The frame had no impact to the ground. Not a scratch on it. So Cervelo warrantied it. I wish my collar bone had a warranty, but it is healing up nicely.

WHOOOSSHHH... 06-25-11 07:03 PM

That's good to hear about the collar bone. That bike had a great color scheme!

Yeah, I liked it better than the current paint schemes by far. Unfortunately racing happens. I am just glad they stand behind their product. I'm so glad I am out of cat 5 now. The move that was made that caused it, was pure idiocy. I did ride it to win the Cat 5 State Championship the day before. So it brought me a good amount of glory, while I still had it. Three wins, and six or seven top fives. What a great bike she was. I think I am going to keep my old fork if I get a black one. I don't like the stupid stripes on the forks of the new ones. For that matter, I may even keep the old fork if I get a white one. I really don't like the new paint schemes at all, but they are still great bikes. I may eventually have it custom painted after I retire it from racing. Eventually I'll be on a team that will supply me with a bike to race I hope. I'm going to try hard to cat up again before the season ends.

Bquillero 06-25-11 08:19 PM

Here is mine. Although there are Hotter bikes in here, I think this is Hot... Not that I'm biased or anything

Criticize away...

:) Knew that was coming. With 4 cm of drop already, I would have to get a lot more flexible... working on it.

I am allowed to say that since I have over 6" of drop. I'm too lazy to convert it to cm, but I see you're from WI, any way, so you should understand anyway.

Soloist Assassin 06-25-11 08:35 PM

It is a pretty nice looking bike however. I am not sure if I would say it is hot, but it does look nice. Kind of in a more subtle way. Kinda like Sandra Bullock. I'd hit it, but I don't think I'd ever fantasize about her.

Nice.

At least he had the sense to keep a Shimano crankset off of that otherwise Shimano equipped bike. I've heard a lot of bad things about FSA cranks, but at least they don't make my eyes burn like a 7900.
