I don't know if it is a new trend or what, but how come nobody cuts their steerers above the stem anymore??? Also, it looks like you could turn up the bars a tiny bit to make them flat with the hood, but it may be just looks based on the way the picture was taken. Get rid of that stupid looking bottle cage. It is insulting to the bike LOL.......

As far as the tires go, this is coming from someone that runs tubulars 100% exclusively and has been doing so for years. Get rid of the Continental tires. They are chit at best as far as feel go, which is pretty much the only reason these days to run tubulars. They are a very harsh ride. Running Continental tubulars on carbon wheels is like putting tractor tires on a Ferrari!!! Veloflex Carbons, although a bit more expensive and have less mileage in comparison, are by far leaps and bound above Continentals. Somewhere in between is the Vittoria Corsa EVO, which is what I am running on all my wheels sets these days. Just a couple of buck above Continental, and yet light years ahead in feel and grip as well.

better picture. nice bike, like already said it is nice to see something different. BUT even though it may work for you, ASTHETICALLY speaking I dont like your handle bar postion. it looks like the bolts weren't tightened and as you stepped away to take the picture, they fell down. I can understand the flipped stem, but the top bar follows the line at which I would think you would want them turned up at least flat. Maybe it is the angle that the picture was taken.

I always wonder when I see a bike with that much steerer tube above the stem if that is the true riding position, or if the stem was slammed to make it more BF approved.

My Addict has a fully slammed stem and about 40mm of spacers on top of it. Looks crap but I fear commitment. I also fear excessively harming the resale value.

Thanks for the tire info. I plan on replacing my Zipp Tangentes with Vittoria Corsa Evos. Glad to to here you like them, although I've never heard anything bad about Vittorias. This is so entirely off topic however so I need to get back on topic.

The S Works needs flipped, and slammed. Steerer needs cut down. Saddle bag needs to be burned. Then the wheels, and crankset need to be staged properly. If you imagine it, it wouldn't look too bad that way.

Could pick on a few things, but overall this bike is really nice. The frame color is one of the nicest I've seen. Adding the little bit of gold really sets it off....HOT bike without a doubt!!

I have slammed mine down for pics before, and I'm sure other people have too. Not on my last pic though. I'm sure other people do too. I enjoy photography and part of it is setting up the subject to look as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

That said, I don't think that is the case with the Parlee. I'm sure he would have a standard 6 or 7 degree stem if he didn't need that much drop, but the fact he has that aggressive stem should mean he does need to have it slammed and hasn't gotten around to cutting the steerer, or just doesn't want to.

assuming you're talking about the parlee...many bikes, including mine, require a spacer above the stem to even out the load on the steerer tube. not sure if this is the case here, but the amount of exposed steerer on that parlee looks like about the same amount i have on mine for that one necessary spacer.

also: i've decided that many of you people have a weird definition of "hot." that parlee is a really nice bike and it's pretty uncommon, but i don't see what's so exciting from a purely aesthetic point of view.

to each his own, though! glad we can at least agree on christie brinkley.

+1. That's how ENVE wants their forks cut.

Very hot. As said above, I would change the bar position a bit. Also, it looks like your cable housing is a bit long and could be trimmed slightly.

They are Kinlin XR300 rims, with CX-Ray spokes, and a White Industries hub in front and a Powertap Pro+ rear. I'm very happy with them.

Parlee is super hot except the cockpit setup.
