i think they make a plastic version

Those are all really heavy. These are 13.5g with bolts. I've never lost a bottle with them either.

What are you referring to that is wrong?

I just checked performance and yes they are $19 now, on sale. I never said they were carbon or any material for the matter. Just said they are OREC approved. And as others have mentioned here, they are popular in the pro peloton.

Don't worry about it. I exchanged all of my sets of carbon cages that I have been gotrying out on the carbon bike. I replaced them with Elite customs about 2 months ago or better. I have not lost a bottle yet and I BOMB down hills. The weight difference is unimportant when you are talking about cages that work.
By the way I use Polar bottles for the most part. The carbon cages couldn't withstand going downhill at about 25-35 going over speedbumps/Rough sections in the road with full bottles and not work their way out. it was really annoying and REALLY dangerous. I have tried about 3 different brands. I felt like such a jackass for avoiding the Elites for the entire season. When I finally got them because I just gave up, I have never had an issue yet. And I bomb down some rough roads.

I miss my elite custom cages :( Unfortunately the seattube bosses are set up such that the derailleur clamp is right between them, so I cannot use the elite customs due to their flat back. If they had an arch of sorts, I'd go back to them in a heart beat.

Well not as hot as my 9 but in Hot Pink, the 8 is great!

i don't like the paint job on the supersix, but the build and fit seem almost spot on. the tall headset in place of a stack of spacers is a nice touch.

Mm31 11-22-11 03:51 PM

Thanks everyone for the hot comments ;) I like the Williams wheels, I got them a little late in the season here so they don't have a ton of miles yet, but so far very happy with them. As for the paint, yea it isn't the most exciting, but actually there isn't any paint on this bike at all so i guess its ok.

You can probably use a couple of tube stem nuts as spacers to clear the FD clamp.

with new cassette, weight is 13lbs 9oz, not the 13, 10 in the photo

WhyFi 11-22-11 04:37 PM

Is there a bike in there, someplace?

Soloist Assassin 11-22-11 04:43 PM

Even if the photo sucks, and the hoods are covered in cow dung.

works with fat snow tires with plenty of clearance left over
disc brakes
front suspension
doesn't have piss poor geometry due to the wheel size
rack mounts
drop bars
relatively cheap

Awww - is Whooshie still sore that I said that his electrical-taped bike with a collection of hot bits didn't jibe?
Oh, and don't get me wrong on the CDale - it's a ****-ton hotter than your Venge, but a clusterfeck picture and stuff like a red-striped seatpost keep it from maximum hotness.

VA_Esquire 11-22-11 10:51 PM

C'Dale- Hot.
Fix:
- dirty hoods
- periscope front end
- cluttered picture
- seatpost

may I suggest you ire hot women in bikinis to clean your bike? Might just help.

nixternal 11-22-11 10:58 PM

I like the dirty hoods, the seat post, and cluttered picture. It shows off what everyone else's pictures does't. IT SHOWS HE ACTUALLY USES THE BIKE, instead of fondling yourself while looking at that great picture you prepped the bike for.

or maybe it shows that he spends more time weighing it at the LBS instead of taking the time to properly wash it and maintain it himself. you decide...

(no offense 3kmi. im not making a prejudgment on your riding or ability, just providing a counterpoint that cant be proven via one picture. just like the quoted comment...)
