This is my 3rd bike/Touring Bike. Call it what you will, it got the thread back on topic.

The touring Giant = no comment
Spooky = looks like a purpose-built machine; hot.
Marinoni = needs work; at the moment, not hot.
Cervelo = OK at the moment, but needs some personalization to be hot (but it sounds like that is underway).

With that said, let me put this one up as well for the BF critics:

Hot.

But you know, they make these things, came out sometime in the '40's, they're called colors.

Desertrats97 01-11-12 08:02 PM

Hot just like it is. Who makes those wheels?

Silvercivic27 01-11-12 08:04 PM

Not, not, not, not, and not, in no particular order.

It's getting old, dude.

Your bike better be pretty sweet. Let's see it or STFU.

sbxx1985 01-11-12 09:30 PM

I predict an excuse.

Perp 01-11-12 09:33 PM

My "proper" shot will come when I get all my parts installed. I'll use a real camera too. Still waiting on some colour advice lol. Go all black? White for some contrast? Other?

Definitely could go one way or the other.

Keep it generic. Keep it black. There's a pic in here of an older S2 with white saddle/bartape. You can make your call.

These didn't quite come out that good off my phone but oh well, its a Raleigh Revenio 4.0, picked it up over summer and have it pretty well modified to my liking now. Off the showroom floor its a aluminum frame with all Ultegra everything except 105 brakes. Ive since changed the wheels, tires, added a carbon seatpost, easton ec90 aero carbon handlebars, Look Keo Max carbon pedals, Selle SMP Extra saddle, Dura Ace rear cassette, Dura Ace 7900 Brakes, Dura Ace chain

Color just seems dull on these, the white and red just looks alot better in the day

You don't have to have a hot bike to know one.

I guess you are right. Like you don't have to be a good basketball player to know when someone is a good basketball player when you see one. But this kid's been screaming so much trash from the sideline, he now needs to show us what he's made of after being called out.

And what do you think is stopping him from posting a pic of a hot bike and claiming it as his own?

NathanC 01-11-12 11:52 PM

Raleigh = NOT

Ugly saddle, stumpy stem, stack of spacers, ugly bar tape.

I think I saw the saddle on that Raleigh in a Salvador Dali painting.

Non adjustable. I removed the Adjustable stem as they squeak after a long while under load (touring load) and I really have no reason to change my stem/handlebar height. The couple of spacers on there leave me with enough room to drop if I wanted to. I do thank you for the compliments. I know some people only like bikes you would never ride (It's a picture forum) but I ride ALL my bikes, considering this thing started as a 500 dollar flat bar road bike, it has come a long way. 2 people stopped me during yesterdays ride asking where I got the bike and how far I have ever ridden on it. Then a roadie at a red light stopped next to me and was asking about the gearing setup and the full range for climbing. No complaints out of me yet.

He doesn't even have a bike. He has a frame and a nice plan. I'll spend my time pedaling. He'll spends his saying how awesome the bike he has never ridden is going to be. I'm curious to see what his backup bike looks like. Unless she doesn't have one. He's talking about White garage doors and doesn't even have wheels on his bike. This thread makes me shake my head.
We all know at this point, Cervelo's Speciazlized and Cannondales are the only accepted bikes in here. These peoples lives must be fantastic to witness at home. "You're brand new Lexus isn't as cool as mine that doesn't run because I have bigger wheels a a garage to put it in. Don't you know every vehicle SUX unless it has 22's and a Garage." All I know is, while I'm on my 3k mile for the year, he'll still be worried about color matching seatposts.

That's right. You don't even have to have a bike that works apparently. As long as it sits in front of the garage door properly. Too bad Lance, George Hinacpie's and Levi Leipheimer's bikes would be total fails in this thread. Their garage doors are Beige and yellow.
