its not too large. the geometry is a little funky on those frames.

I'd take a little less post rather than a 150mm stem with 20mm worth of spacers under it.

Not hot...and I like "classic" bikes.

Frame is too small for you. On a classic styled frame, that much post is just wrong.
Too much rear brake cable. Needs to be shortened about a half a foot.
Lack of quill stem.
No need for gum hoods, black would look better.

UCIMBZ 07-01-12 08:26 PM

This again turning into what bikes do you have. Get on with the plan folks.

mazdaspeed 07-01-12 08:38 PM

That frame couldn't fit me any better if it were custom made and I get ridiculed for it being too big... lol, yeah it's huge considering I have a 120mm stem and a setback post with the saddle most of the way back. It's tall enough that there are no spacers and my back is flat in the drops. It's OK though, I don't really expect much from bike forums these days. Half the bikes posted here are obviously not fit well at all but all anyone here cares about is the name on the downtube and how much drop you have. I honestly don't even know why I bother sometimes.

If by funky you mean 'how racing bikes used to be' then I'd say that's accurate.

And your point being?

c_mack9 07-01-12 08:50 PM

yeah, this is the hot or not thread, there's kind of a criteria here folks. that's why it took me over a year to post here.

rjones28 07-01-12 09:52 PM

Nice clean look. I like it.

Don't post it if you can't take it...looks silly to me... *shrug*

His non decaled matching bike isn't "clean" because he properly installed his fork and the bike has traditional geometry? If you don't like it you don't like it but your comment is just silly. I wouldn't call the bike hot but it is clean and simple. I think that makes it better than most. Now his other bike, that is hot.

Edit: since when is one spacer a tower?

I was looking at the other bike with the tower.

Traditional geo or not...the stubby setback post looks silly to me. It's certainly clean & simple. I don't care about logos/etc. Once again...if the rider is happy he/she shouldn't really care...

I agree it does look odd. It is too bad they put the clamp up so high. If the frame had a traditional clamp just above the stays I think it would better (more exposed post)

UCIMBZ 07-01-12 10:17 PM

It is "Hot r Not", not justify your poor judgements.

mazdaspeed 07-01-12 10:18 PM

I'm not even mad, and I don't care if people think it's not hot. It's the utter ignorance about how bikes should look and be set up with the associated asinine comments that annoy me... It's also BS that people seem to think there is a standard for hotness in a thread called "hot r not". Really, is reading that hard? For the most part this has turned into a fredly circle jerk slash epeen measure-off in regards to who has what brand frame or wheels, who has the most drop, etc...

And you're one of the worst of all of them. Poor judgement? wow...

mazdaspeed 07-01-12 10:21 PM

Oh by the way I have a colnago too so you can all love me and believe I know what I'm talking about. Carry on.

I was shooting for the worst. I need to work on that.

I agree with the frame and quill stem comments but not the gum hoods. The tires are also gum walls. Unless he wanted it all black. I prefer the gum color only because it looks more traditional. All personal preference.

We love you no matter what. It is your bike that we despise.
