Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Parlee Z5 SLi (M/l Tall size) D-A Di2 with Zipp carbon cockpit, D-A 7900-24 tubeless wheels with Maxxis Padrone tires. Recently switched to 52/36 Praxis rings and 3T tape. I know this is bland to many folks but it floats my boat. 15 pounds, 1 ounce. I apologize for having moved this past summer and no longer have a garage door for proper photo composition. I leave on the Tracko Ramblin Roll for pics because I like to show off its relative scarcity.

It looks a little large for you, but I like where this is going.

The biggest eyesore to me is the wheels. I just think paired spokes look a bit dated, and not in a "classic" way.

I'll give the Parlee a Hot because it looks set up well for riding, not for posin' on the innernets. The aftermaket rings look pretty bad though.

The Centurion is Not. Sorry. It looked rough when you got it, but I like the original paint, and the attempt to modernize it doesn't really work aesthetically.

Hot! I love Parlee bikes. Lop of that remaining steerer tube = a 15lbs bike?

What's going on with the lacing of your rear wheel? It's very confusing and painful to look at.

Thanks. I'm going to put on a dark blue Cane Creek headset top cover to give the tiniest bit of bling, and will be making that final steerer tube cut as you point out is needed. Also planning to go down at least another 1/2 pound or so with different wheels/tires, and upgrading to 11 speed in the spring. One way or another, I won't keep the aftermarket rings. Just wanted to try out 52/36 for a couple of months to make sure my aging fat a** could still get up all the hills.

@ gc3- great looking Parlee. Even though the shimano crankset isn't the most appealing, the rest of the bike looks great. HOT.

HOTTT...

Love the paint on this frame, looks incredible! This is one time that I'd vote for white decals on the rims instead of the black on black tho...

Nice. I give it a HOT. Reminds me of bianchi10's bike. The speed/cadence sensor is a little bit of an eyesore though. The arm shouldn't be erect like that.

I agree completely. Other than the way the sensor is set up it's certainly hot.

Well balanced bike and Hot. Only little thing would be matching saddle and bar tape colors.

I'm going to say almost hot.

Sensor is setup wrong. Seat should match bar tape. What happened to the stickers on the wheels?

Hot r Not

I took the stickers off, not sure why, I've had the wheels for about 2 years now. Going to put black bar tape on once the white turns all black and gross. Definitely before I start riding outside again. How is the sensor suppose to be setup?

Thanks!

I think if Garmin put a little paint spot on the inner "low" side of the arm, people would install it like this more often.
