to me, This is a prime example of how a bike that doesn't cost $10,000 can look hot.

*Crankset-Not a great crankset, but positioned correctly and color flows well with the bike. Dont love that its a triple.
*Wheels-staged and tires placed right on thewheels properly.
*Stem-flipped and good degree (matches seatpost)
*seatpost-matches stem
*good saddle to bar trop
*Bars are aesthetically pleasing and in proper position. I like the drops on those bars. will clear your forearms well.
*Hoods in good position
*saddle-good position, level and matches bartape
*bartape-good color choice for bike and matches saddle.
*stack height is low
*proper background (good example of how you can use something other than a garage door)
*good lighting

I'd give this a hot even though it isn't blazing hot.

*zero saddle to bar drop
*bars tilted up
*hoods are high on bars
*huge stack height
*handle bar shape is aesthetically displeasing. Deep ergo bars are never attractive
*crank arm in wrong position
*wheels aren't staged
*saddle bag needs to be taken off for a picture in this thread
*picture is cropped and doesn't even have the entire bike in photo
*toe clips pedals on this style of bike isn't hot.

I dare you to find one person on here that doesn't think a GMC Denali is a hot bike, other than yourself. Just look at those twist shifters on the bars... Perfection.

I heard GMC actually had their bikes pulled from the PRO peloton due to hand-wringing over the unfair advantage offered compared to other manufacturers.. UCI is currently evaluating the twist shifters for legality in road racing.

Were ye olde road Gripshifts hated on by the UCI?

Here's my starter bike I got last summer for less than $500 new to see if I like cycling, a Diamondback Podium 1. Have done some upgrades and now that I have fallen in love with the black ISM saddle, I will switch back to black bar tape in the near future.

Let me know your thoughts on keeping or removing the wheel decals. I'm not sure.

The only thing I would change on that bike is bar tape, cables and brake pads while you save up for a bike to post in this thread. You had it right with your post in "What road bike do you have?"

to the best of your ability, ignore my crappy apartment. Going to replace the saddle with a white romin evo as soon as I get my shoes.

i dunno man, this could be a pretty hot looking bike if it were a better pic! Set it up against a neutral wall and take a picture from about handlebar level.

Not hot yet. Solid black or white bar tape would look way better. I guess go white if you're getting a white saddle and already have white hoods.

I'm not a fan of anything but black or skinwall tires generally. The white tires honestly don't look terrible here though. Just wear them out then replace with something black.

I agree about the tires. Black tires and I would also go black romin and black tape.

That's what I think of as the definition of most of the "nots" in this thread.

When I post my Fuji Team Issue, though, it will be due to lack of funds for anything but a beat up old 105 5500 drivetrain with yellow and blue stickers to ruin the good looks of the carbon weave. And I will well deserve my "nots." :)

beautiful...except for the yellow accents...either white or yellow, but not both, is my personal taste...somebody will ding you on the chainrings, but that don't make no nevermind to me...and the yellow valve stem caps are just too cutesy...
