Its the auto-tune of the photo world. not saying this is an instagram photo...i just don't like too much contrast. although +1 for have a blue door. The bike however....hot.

"Different strokes for different folks!"
Take that bike to the V&C, & you'll get all the drool you can handle, & more.
Better bring your buckets.
:D
IMO modern frames(Treks) get more hate than most of the classic steel bikes in this thread.
You don't frequent the "41" much do ya?
;)

Hot

To the guy with the Chinese frame(powder blue/orange/black), this is the way to compliment the lines of the frame.
;)

I like it! Need a better background to make it hot in this thread. :D
Still on the hunt for my own Saeco frame to build up.

Thanks! I don't have a white garage door so I picked the whitest backdrop around my residence. I'll try and find a better spot one on of my rides.

Nice, but big/tall bikes look awkward to my eyes. So it's a not from me. The same bike in a smaller frame and better photo might have gotten a hot.

Man, this thread is getting busy, as you can see. Hot bikes.

bro, da fuq is up with your bar tape? I actually kind of like this though. I think it has potential. Fix your bar tape, move your hoods up a touch, get a black crank, match your stem brand and seatpost brand, stage the bike correctly, and it might be hot. Personally, I have never been a fan of the older caad bikes due to the peculiarly shaped down tube, but it isn't always a deal breaker.

Lets just say that I need to work on bar taping, haha. As for the hoods, I agree. Should i take the bar tape off first and then move them, or do you think I would be able to move them up without removing the tape. It kills me a little inside to take my bike into an LBS just so they can wrap my tape...

SpeshulEd 09-25-13 05:33 PM

Take the bar tape off to move the hoods...keep practicing on wrapping the tape, watch a few youtube vids...it's easy once you get the hang of it. There's no reason to take it to a shop for that. You can do it!!!

I know how you feel about paying LBS to wrap your bars, I learned eventually to do it on my own, and then, I started working at the LBS . In order to practice, try to find some bar tape like profile design's tape, cheap ($10) and make sure it doe not have adhesive on the back. This way you can practice, wrap up, unwrap, wrap up, unwrap easily. Concerning the hoods, if you don't do much of your own maintenance, then I would suggest you go to your lbs. I say this because there are a few things that you must be mindful of when changing your hood/brakelever position.

In that case I may take it in to the LBS. When I originally put the hoods on it didn't seem terribly complicated, but after riding it today I can definitely tell my right hood is lower than my left hood, haha. Darn it! The build itself was much easier than I expected. I took all of the parts off of my Tarmac Pro (carbon to aluminum? Yup, that's right) and put them on the CAAD 5 one by one. Did it in about 3 hours or so! I'm proud of myself to say the least.

Nope, the frame is perfectly fine. I just wanted to build a bike without paying more money for different parts. I bought the CAAD5 frame off of craigslist for about 100$ and that was it. I was tired of not really knowing how things worked on my bike so I figured the best way to learn was to build one myself! It worked for the most part, except for the bar tape
