Just finished the build, waiting on cages to arrive and pedal swap in near future... http://i40.tinypic.com/mjwwmp.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/250v6yo.jpg |
It was well received in "What road bike do you have?" so I thought I'd chance my arm in here...

Brethren of my old blue one just above, which was pinched...
/tries not to indulge in torture fantasies Nice kit on it; pity you didn't score the sexy transparent blue paint job mine had. |
spindr,
i told you i loved the bike, but to be truly hot it needs a new seatpost and stem. think tompson, deda, cinelli, or the like :) |

Well, after dozens of pages filled with mediocre looking, run of the mill, not hot by any stretch of the imagination, and dime a dozen bikes comes one I can sincerely say :VERY VERY CALIENTE.
Well done!! Since you're in South Florida, you might get the opportunity to see him riding it someday - and if not this particular machine, his equally stunning, fillet-brazed, True Temper machine (w/10-speed Record) - also one of his own builds. He does outstanding work. -Kurt |

Agree with the others that this is the hottest bike posted on here in a long time. I loved the SunTour Superbe Pro group back in the 1980s and I know that I have a well used rear derailleur and shift levers hanging around somewhere in my garage. In fact, that's my only criticism of your impeccable build; I would have used downtube shifters. Enjoy it! |

I'm not a barcon fan myself, but I was pleasantly surprised when I test-rode it; they are quite smooth. -Kurt |

You want a Roubaix for that extra long headtube.
I have long legs and a short torso. When I used competitive cyclists fit calculator it says my seat tube should be 56 and my top tube should be 53. Hard to find that combination. I have asked several people about the Roubaix's stiffness compared to the Tarmac but haven't heard from anyone. |

IMO different shades of green work great. That Colnago's so hot I'd be tempted to mug you for it.
Reckon it might look a fraction better with a black stem or silver seatpost, though |

Reckon it might look a fraction better with a black stem or silver seatpost, though I chose the silver stem and black post 'cause i thought it flowed well with the paint and chrome. the black headset carries the darker hues from the rear and the alloy stem seems to pull up from the fork, through the lugs. it's not seen but the bars are also black. i really like the contrast in the front end. black/chrome/green - it's easy on the eyes. thanks again. |
Your bar tape looks great, but if you ever spot some with a black/green pattern, that might look a bit better...

+1 on that. The greens albeit different colors all blend really well together. Beautiful build there.

Thanks, The tires are already dirty and I expect the tape to follow suit. The green will get more dull over time. Same as on my merlin, the orange became less bright over time.
I was wondering how you'd keep the green tires clean. I guess that's impossible. Black stem, though. ;) |

yes! Finally some colors. Stealth, black & White, you name it....all that total lack of fantasy and imagination Not to mention hydroformed frames far from being qualified to hit any aesthetic scales This is hot |
