The Kirk is rad, perfect even. Pink and red almost never look good together like that. I think your seat bag is open :) And is that headset spacer silver, or just reflecting sun?

The Pegoretti, however, I'm not liking at all. That's the most boring paint I've ever seen from Pegoretti. The handlebar/brifter orientation (and is that 3mm Fizik tape?) is like a glamor shot of the inside of a luxury car, with a tacky seat cushion from Walmart draped over the driver's seat. The fact that the Kirk doesn't have the funky handlebar accommodations leads me to think something about the size on the Peg is wrong- top tube too long? Perspective could be screwing with me (the Kirk has a sloping top tube, right?), but the Peg looks bigger.

^ Simple, but hot.

With training wheels (OpenPro/Ultegra hubs). Won't purchase new wheels until I drop my last 20lbs. Still rides nicer than most of the newer bikes out there right now.

New tape, cables and cable housings for the new year. Can probably shorten some of the cables another 1/2", I think. Only ridden it on the trainer so far, so I'll wait until I get a few road rides in before I start cutting again.

also, I have a gold chain waiting for when this one needs replacing

Not quite hot, but more than warm. Cables look OK to me. I'm not averse to colored bar tape in principal, and maybe it's just the lighting, but that looks like you used strips of raw meat or something. If you don't want black or white, have you considered gold? I think my project this frosty Sunday will be just that - replacing white bar tape with Deda "olympic gold."

Did you steal it?
:wtf:
That's the kind of pedals my shop puts on bikes for people to test ride - but more often pink or fluorescent green. :)

Temporary pedals. I tried clipless with off roading but it was kind of sketchy for me since I was new to off road/ cyclocrossing. Actually selling the bike to save up for a better road bike again. Somehow I prefer the skinny tires on the road :)

Budged build, mix of 105 & random parts. 90's trek aluminum frame, media-blasted.

Judge away!

I've posted this a couple of other places, people seem to like it.

In order to get clearance for the 35mm wide Kendas I have to completely remove the micro adjusters so the the rear axle can be slammed all the way back in the rear dropout.

CG-R seatpost is basically an automatic not, its just ugly. Roubaix frames are tricky, the Zertz break-up the clean lines. Stem and handlebar position were going to be a tough sell in HrN.

Otherwise a clean bike, certainly not ugly, just doesn't get to the lust worthy threshold of hot.

Wasn't a tough sell from my fitter. Oh well, I'm stuck with this body. I like riding it, I guess that's all that matters.

Cool bike, but the fit is a bit extreme. The c-gobbler post and extreme seat setback with relatively little amount of seat post appears as if your femors are crazy long, assuming knee-over-pedal fit, while your seat post is relatively short. Do you have short legs or long legs?

the stem is really tall.... Which is a typical position for Clydesdale that lack flexibility (or support enough gut) that that they can't pivot forward at the hips.

If if your seat is improperly set too far back, then the reach to the handlrbars would be so challenging that the raised position is justified (sort of). But if your seat was moved forward and as you become more flexible, adjusting the saddle and lowering the bars will both adjust the positioning to a more "traditionally hot" stance.
