Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

As a Ti bike guy and Campy guy, I really like the Moots. I would say that putting some black rim wheels on, medium depth will make it hotter looking. I am not a big fan of gum wall tires on most bike builds.

New (to me) bike day. Still waiting for my headset bearing cover to chop the steertube. Also, going to clear the seatpost.

^^^Would be so very hot if that top tube was designed to be a bit more horizontal.

Yeah, really tiny frame. Short guy, so traditional tt's leave me with a fist full of seatpost. Fit hasn't been dialed, prob come down ~ half an inch.

Get the stem off of the slammed position and its hot slowjamz. The balance does not look correct now.

Scratch that, leave it slammed and cut the steerer.

a question about that beautiful Moots...I've noticed some modern bikes have laid-back seat-posts...if you want to be a little more stretched out, why not just use a stem with more reach...is being a little more over the back wheel adding stability?

Because the alignment with your knee and pedal is not affected by the length of your stem but the setback on your seat post. It could be forward too. It depends on your femur length. And the setback on the saddle can vary between bikes due to the angle of the seatpost per bike geometry and size.

I am not a fan of deep dish wheels.
I see too many people riding around on them for no real benefit except that they think they look "hot".

That is how traditional frames should look (fist full of seatpost).

Because lengthening or shortening your stem is not how you position yourself over your pedals correctly.
Correct position over your pedal is created by moving your saddle fore and aft.
Too far forward and you will find yourself pedalling more with your quads (and they will start to ache).
Too far back and you will pedal more with your hamstrings (and they will start to ache).
Correct position will see you pedalling with both hamstrings and quads in unison (and you will not find quads or hamstrings getting more sore than each other).
Stem length is more about putting the bar in the correct position so that you are comfortable (no neck and back pain) and to help with how the bicycle handles when turning.

Fire hot, love the gum walls. Can you fit a 25 in the back?

Climber

Been riding a lot of vintage bikes lately but thought it was time to take one of the more modern ones out today for some climbing. Forgive the poor backdrop, these pics were just taken on the fly with my phone...

What groupset is that? I'm not familiar with that brand, shifters and RD.

Bike looks good. Black and red is a classic.
