Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I haven't rode in a while, been getting tattooed every week. Now I just stare at this on the wall.

I think the rings are the same color, but I could be wrong. Probably just a lighting difference.

One word: amazeballs.

1) is the seat level or no? Do you ride like that or still adjusting?

2) an aside:I wish trek took the "huge leap" and internally routed all the cables on all their bikes. It's funny how some of their $2k bikes still have cables outside!

I didn't think I would need the bivy sack today.

The saddle looks weird. Fluorescent color is gross. Gonna go with not.

Thanks.
It is level, might be the angle of the picture. However, a little adjusting is still needed.
Some people love internal routing, some hate it. I personally like it from an aesthetic aspect, but I can see how changing cables (especially those for pros who change often) can be a pain.

That bike shop should purchase a strong magnet.

Easiest way I've managed to get the cables where I need them.

My bike shop does have magnets (in fact we have the whole extravagant Park Tools IR1.2 kit). Sometimes it makes it easier and sometimes it's still a huge PITA, depending on the frame. I also still haven't heard a convincing argument for any practical advantages of internal cable routing. Only vague aesthetic references to "cleaner lines".

Haha, I started out with the floss and vacuum technique and failed miserably.

Of course, I've only had to do it on one frame, but the magnet was a lifesaver.

A strong magnet does make things easier, but it's still a PITA.

Internal cables look better, but I'd rather have frame mounted shift cable adjusters. In-line adjusters blow.

Yes, I'm hoping for 2018. Finances are ok right now, but I don't have enough of a safety net if something goes wrong.

No I have not but was just ranting because of the aesthetics of it. I know it's a pain to install/remove cables that are internally routed but for a non-professional/casual rider like me, I'd prefer the looks. And how often do casual riders need to replace their entire shifting/braking cables...? Not very often. Adjustments, sure, but full on replacements of the cables......?

Please upload full size pic and more pics to hosting site like Imgur or Photobucket. Bike is simmering, could be hot, pics too small.

Same crank, however, one is chorus and the one you posted is record. They are pretty much the same though. I have a Super Record crank and I will say it is the most beautiful crank ever made.

+1. But stage it better. Chain on small ring. Saddle slanted. Looks like a zero setback seat post might work better. Stack of spacers. So maybe final fit hasn't been dialed in yet?
