This thread has made me thirsty. Excuse me while I go grab a glass of ice water.

ravenmore 08-15-08 06:43 PM

I think this is where his house is at - looks like google got it while it was being built.

Hey, a good cyclist has got to stay hydrated.

I don't think that's it. Guest house isn't the same angle as the main house in the Statesman shot, but it is in the Google shot.

I think you know who to blame now.

Doesn't evaporation eventually lead to cloud formation and then rain???

Al Gore's electric bill?

Thankfully, Al Gore put his money where his mouth is and did an enormous rebuild on his house. It actually has a lot of LEED points now, after having put in systems for recycling rain/domestic grey water for non potable systems, solar panels, geothermal heating/cooling, etc etc. It's actually pretty cool, my company designs systems like this but on a much bigger, non-residential scale. I agree, Al Gore's ridiculous energy useage looked really bad, so I'm glad that something was done about it.

You should come by my complex. They water enough i think there might be moss growing on the side walks. It is crazy.

Clearly Lance needs to listen to this.

Or maybe the chance to win a car will help, then he can stop having to ride his bike everywhere.

But Lance...you're WINNING!!!

Nice aerial shot of his house next to the headline.

McMansions get thirsty.

I really didn't need to see that - I just step out and take a look at my yard. I'm trying to be positive though and not call it brown. Instead I call it "khaki"...

Its a nice house. Not an architectural work of art but it is nice. Of course I like vanilla ice cream too. HEB (local grocery) carries a store brand that is just fantastic. Might have to treat myself to some after my ride this morning. :)

Why do celebrities have to be good citizens? What's the obsession with "looking up" to your heroes?

If Lance spends his cancer foundation's money for his personal, I'd be pissed, but other than that, meh.

cjump 08-16-08 11:18 PM

did he pay for it? then why not.

dbnm 08-16-08 11:25 PM

Al Gore's $30,000 electric bill

dcbikeguy 08-16-08 11:31 PM

He doesn't carry a gun. I'd feel more comfortable with him than you.

Wait, maybe this is a threat to you and your family - you should shoot him.
