as long as it's aero, I'll allow it.

it won't be long before the seatpost is integrated into Gunter's ass, compliments of an unseen pothole.

Are there any reports on how a bike like that rides? I'll never know. I'm sure it would collapse the minute I hauled my 16 stone unto the saddle.

CastIron 09-08-08 01:08 PM

It's an interesting bit of engineering, mostly of my wallet, but I'll wager we've long passed the ROI for weight and road cycles need to pursue aero instead.

redfooj 09-08-08 01:14 PM

insane. and aside from the bar setup, it looks way good

I'd love to see someone with one of these superlight bikes show up at a long climbing ride...

Fixed.

By the way, I have cats that weigh more than that bicycle. In fact I'm pretty sure we have squirrels in the yard that weigh more than that bicycle.

i think i've actually read something to this affect in an article somewhere. the light bikes are light enough...and the return on investment is ********. aero and still relatively light is the way to go for speed...

How much more for a bit of aesthetics?

Form is generally on the bottom of the list of component characteristics for Weight Weenies.

vic32amg 09-08-08 01:52 PM

this is dumb. and no he does not use this exact set up to ride. also these bikes are prepared for shows to be like this. almost contest like. A guy I ride with and we share the same mechanic ( Victor - M2racer) does this with his ruegamer every trade show. it's cool but he does not ride it when it's down to 8 lbs or whatever. He does ride it at 10.75 lbs however. i would like to see the flexablity of this SPIN frame as victors frame is a complete noodle.

I was in Albany doing a group ride with a former club mate who lives in Troy this weekend.

Where in Troy? Does your friend race with a team around here?

Where did you guys ride?

Pretty, but completely and utterly useless. Unless of course replacing a $500 chainring every time you sprint looks like fun.
