Any replacement for Michelin Krylion yet?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1

Currently I have 4 bikes with the Krylion mounted front and rear....

The rears have close to 5000km's and are still going strong...

I keep meaning to swap them out, but they still look good...

One of Michelin USA's own regularly posts on RBR and he did mention a while back that they were changing production facilities to Thailand and that was the cause of the delay.

Do we know if the new Thai tires are just as good as the old ones?

Yeah I was going to ask that same question.

I guess we'll see. I'm sure they'll be fine. There will of course be the people who won't buy them because their not made in the US or in Europe.

Yeah, especially considering that Vittorias (and all their tubular OEM products like Vredesteins and Bontragers) are made in Thailand.I think Challenge tires are as well. All of these tires are fine.

Ah, good to know. I'm rolling on Vittoria randonneurs on my ss/fg and those are some tank tires for sure.

re: Krylions - here they are, in stock, biketiredirect does not have them any more. I just bought another pair for cool weather season, the first pair had some life in them after 6000km. never had flat.
don't know if you like the price, $39, but it's worth the $$$.
cheers
