Bikes: Real Steel. Really. Ti is cool, too !
I think George would make an excellent coach. I may consider having him help me for 2009 season. Of course my goals would be different than someone racing - I'd want to train to do a century and to get in shape/lose weight. I've not done one in several years, I'm 52 years old, and have nerve damage to my legs. So my performance is compromised to begin with. But I'd sure be a good success story for Epic !!!!
I think I'll check it out.
But - Marketing Advise to George & Epic Training - the start of the Bad Coach thread and the drinking & shots & and the boobs & long legged young hotties next door may not exactly help get the business you want. It's not very professional. Some BF'ers like it and that's cool (I think tittilation is word I used), but others may think it unprofessional and not wanna invest in your program if they see this stuff. Advice is: don't ever post stuff on the 'net that you might regret later. I don't think I see Carmichael or others of that caliber engaged in such activity. Keep it professional and demonstrate your assets, not her or their ass-ets. Or at least don't link it so directly with Epic. I think you're all better than that, I think you seem to be developing a great product in an expanding market and you may be able to be a big niche player, and you have personal experience to inspire and motivate. Don't mess it up with careless threads like the start of Bad Coach.
Of course advive is worth just whatcha pay for it - and my advise is free, so...........................

George didn't start the thread. I did.
PS...while I understand your concern Mark, life is too short to be serious all the time.

You make some good points, but I don't think people will be paying to have Vireo coach them, they will be paying to have George ......... coach them. Other than BF members, I doubt any other people will see this thread and link it to George.

Also good points. Listen if you can't have a little fun then your life gets boring and too serious. This is BF and not everything has to be taken so literal. I tend to work with clients where we have a good match in our personalities. One very important characteric being a sense of humor. Furthermore, we all have real lives and real jobs where we act differently than on BF. Additionally, I NEVER solicit business from BF members.

Don't take life too seriously; you'll never get out alive.

As am I...because mine is even worse. Lighten up....stress over stupid stuff is bad for your training.
See...even I could be a coach.

But a far far far more important question is....will Brandy solicit business for you from BF members??

PS- my coach last year was all business. Not sure how I felt about that. I could never tell when/if it was appropriate to joke around. A strict training regimen-- one that I ended up dreading-- was what killed structured training for me. When you end up dreading a ride, perspective needs to be changed. Motivation for me is #1 factor for successful training, fwiw.

The things you say/post here definitely get around in the real world. Don't ask me how I know.
I only got here by stalking A. Coggan across the internets. Did I miss anything in the previous 8 pages?

...maybe if I was paying him, he wouldn't be trying to pawn me off on the drunkity drunk neighbor girls who are trying to lure me over to take shots with them. He dropped me off over there once already tonight, but I snuck back home (two shots later) and he keeps telling me to go back. I have to get up at 4:00 to get to the mountains. WTF?!?!?!
Sabatoge. My coach is trying to sabatoge me!

Trust me when I say that George does not go easy on me when it comes to coaching. I get busted for stopping on training rides to talk to people, not following my training plans and a myriad of other things.
I also get the "don't use the PowerTap as a speedometer...lap your damn climbs/intervals" whenever I forget to do it.
The man analyzes every ride that I do, so Friday night and the encouragement to join the neighbors was a fluke. He knows that I am in a funk right now and thought I should take a break to have some fun.
