Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I did 20 miles throughout the Leominster/Fitchburg area of Central Massachusetts. I hate the weather when it's less than 60, but I have been making a stronger effort to get out this winter.

It isn't really bad until it gets below 20....... dress accordingly.
BTW, I ride out of Fitchburg, but usually head north up Rt 12 into NH, or South to Princeton and the mountian..... Maybe our paths will cross someday.
And there are a couple good group rides in the area when the weather warms up, PM me if interested.

102 miles, last 15 was a bonkfest. In fact, my brain was too fried to deal with (the light) traffic so the last 1.25 miles was done dork style, all sidewalks and crosswalks. At least I didn't have aerobars.

Goal of coming to the table hungry was achieved.

Crap. Woke up at 7:45 for an 8:00 group ride that left 12 miles from my house. I missed it so instead I did a very leisurely ride to Peet's and then the annual charity run to cheer on my cousin and her husband. Back home by ten.

Since I only had an hour (and a flat), I decided to do intervals. The intervals were fine once the sun came up and it warmed a bit, but it's no fun changing a flat in 30 degree weather.

I went on a group ride this morning. A smaller group than usual but we put in 36 miles with about 1800 feet of climbing.

I had one hr to ride 20 miles at a moderately high intensity with a small amount of climbing on my fixed gear. Awesome.

Brandy and I took the fixies out for 30 mile flat spin up to Long Beach from Huntington Beach. It as a nice day. It was especially nice to just ride for the sake of riding with no training goal or time constraints.

Rode in a 20 mi annual Tour Da Turkey ride. Really nice ride at about a 19.7m/h pace. Then went home and ate way too much!

It was cold here in Vermont, and I was cranky so my son suggested I take the rollers outside and spin on the deck. Got all gussied up and after ten minutes I was warm enough I took it to the road for another 22 hilly miles. It was nice to get out, It's a bummer to ride in the house. Temp was 37, love those triflex tights!

Sure. In anticipation of a great family Thanksgiving dinner I got up at 6:30am, put on my winter gear and rode 26 miles in a cold early morning ride at 18.3 mph. We did'nt eat until 5:30pm but worth the wait.

Saw a few road cyclist with the same idea. One guy was on a gorgeous Orbea Orca w/ Dura Ace all around. I tend to notice these things.

I rode 81 miles of an attempted century. The last 20 miles of the ride home were in complete darkness with no headlights or taillights.

for T+1 I did a modified Mulholland Century, from Westlake. I rearranged the order of some of the climbs and did about 11,000 feet in 100 miles. I'm sitting at Jamba Juice right now and then I still have to haul my ass up the hill to my in-laws. Think pcad's mt doom...

Edit: I was still tired from yesterday and I wasn't pushing too hard so the power was kind of low...
