Tire Question
I've been riding some Bontrager Race Lites and surprisingly I loved em. Haven't had a single flat with these tires and they seem to grip and wear acceptably.
The only other tire I have much experience with are the Michelin Pro Race 2 tires.....liked them as well. What's the best thing going these days? |

I have not ridden Mich in a loooooooong time. Can someone tell me if they are not as prone to cuts as they used to be? It seemed I never used to get the full wear out of them before they would be unserviceable do to cuts. We just starting carrying Vredestein tires again after about a 5 year hiatus. I am curious to assess their wear and ride quality.
By the way I voted for Vittoria Open Corsa now a 320Tpi tire. |

They are very fast in independent tests, as well. |

Looks like the Conti GP4000 is the clear winner so far......although the Pro Race 2 is leading the polls. I wonder if you can edit the poll so I can include the Conti?

I voted Michelin but that's only based on my friend's experience with them and he uses his bike for commuting and leisure. I use my bike for training/leisure and have been very happy with Michelin Krylion Carbon which are currently very difficult to get hold of so I'm using Continental Ultra Gatorskin.
The ride is a lot harsher than Krylion but I'm hoping I'll get very few flats (I was already impressed with Krylion's flat resistance - is there a petition or something to get Michelin making these again?) in return. |
continental = absolutely, the best
...mostly everything else = crap |
oh yeah, grand prix 4000...bestest...

i've heard good talk about the bontrager xxx race

I like the Ritchey Pro Race Slick tires. Just tossing another into the fold.

For me I prefer the ride and feel of the Michelin Pro3's over my Conti 4000's but the Conti's seem to provide a much longer lasting tire.

Good thing you said mostly because a Vittoria Evo has a significantly better ride than Conti.
