His legs I presume. This is a cycling forum, try to keep it velo related.

I recently joined also, and if memory serves correct part of the agreement to join mentioned something about not allowing inflammatory or demeaning comments.

And there's no lying allowed in U.S. Politics. What's your point?

Flatbroke 11-30-08 11:36 PM

you being a reasonably astute individual (assumption), I think you know what the point is.

To the extent that one can grasp such a contention within a pointless thread.

Flatbroke 11-30-08 11:39 PM

that was funny I LMAO

cuda2k 11-30-08 11:41 PM

Pcad, you can be part of the solution, or continue to be satisfied with your current ratio of helpful posts to everything else. That's your choice. This thread is far from pointless. Your inability to grasp it's point speaks volumes.

Oh I grasp the straws you're grasping at alright. I just think you're all holding your cranks, if you know what I'm saying and I know you do. Now do us all a favor, adjust your helmet mirrors, and try not to take down the whole friggin paceline.

patentcad 11-30-08 11:50 PM

I presume after you establish this Brave New Road Cycling Order I'll still be allowed to voice my opinion when I think something is imbecilic, but of course, it sounds like that will be Verboten.

I will prepare myself for Life after BF Banishment.

Don't expect too much from people on internet forums, electronic communication medium takes out one very important aspect of communication: body language and facial contact. It's so much easier to avoid confrontation with text message and emails, combined that with real time communication and you get internet boards. With the egos of roadies and type-A personas, it's easier for things to go overboard.

There is almost non-existent consequences should anyone say anything inflammatory, last week, a person posted his suicide act online and people egged him on, would they have done the same thing in person?

Live and let live, you can't take away what makes us competitive egoist individuals. The hazing, bashing, and demeaning comments will continue. Do you want to do as mods, but you won't get much done without risking the community culture of this subforum. When all the regulars leave, you will have a interweb nuke wasteland here.

I finally agree with a mrbubbles post 100%. Maybe the Cubs can win the World Series.

One day when you finally grow up, if ever, you'll look back and learn something from today and the many other days like this you'll be experiencing. You don't even realize how much you're embarassing yourself.

Anyway, shouldn't you be getting to bed? Are you all ready for school tomorrow?

I'm sorry, I got overwhelmed with the emotion of the moment, I didn't mean to go off the hinges so completely. Everybody knows the Cubs won't win the World Series.

I read and post here somewhat regularly and act no differently than I do in real life, besides it didn't take me long before I got the gist of the humor and banter in Road Cycling. Some topics get responses that are over the top but I haven't seen things that are out right malicious. Thicker skin is needed here and once you realize that you can go about asking your questions and filtering out the good information from the bad.

Certainly in the first 20 posts I find nothing offensive. The OP's reaction to the initial comments was way out of left field.

Couldn't agree more. I looked at the old thread and thought exactly the same thing.

Personally I think the "Introduction to the Road Forum..." warning thread is a wasted sticky. It almost gives people the excuse to be "mean". This place isn't that really that tough.

I think that after the OP "freaked out", a lot of people started piling on, that's when the thread headed downhill fast.

mustang1 12-01-08 04:41 AM

Man this is the best thread in ages! I'm gonna subscribe to this one!

There's zero energy loss when you're taking a massive dump, it all goes straight to your sphincter. You should see the Zero G toilet paper holder. That was a bit over the top for me. I may add that later. It does save 150 grams.

j_amie_ 12-01-08 05:54 AM

Vertically compliant but laterally stiff?

Trsnrtr 12-01-08 06:53 AM

Personally, I love this forum and I'm an old fart, or older than most anyway. :thumb:

Then again, after 27 years of group riding and racing, I've pretty much decided that most roadies, myself included, are A-Holes. :D

Bdcheung, my post isn't inflammatory at all--but your response is telling.

I AM the silent majority. Your response shows that you are not ready to help me.

Yeah, that's not inflammatory. You could always just take it to PM.
