Here's a question . . . is the majority of the fish you get in your region salt water fish or great lakes/fresh water fish?

Hmm. I'm gonna say fresh water fish. I really don't know. Haven't been fishing in ages. Last time I went fishing was for Salmon on my 16th birthday.

It was a memorable night...reeling in my first salmon. And it was with my dad. We didn't spend much time together, so it stayed in the memory banks.

I wasn't here for that, I was absolutely bored at work part of the time, and I enjoy the company of the nice people on the thread.

Lately I haven't had that much to contribute, but this coming Saturday I hope to get some pictures from the Tour of California racers in the mountains near here.

I went virtual fishing at a museum last week. I chose a marlin and kept it on the line for almost 10 minutes before I lost it.

Virtual fishing?

It was a fighting chair, a rod/reel with the line going into a hole in the wall under a TV screen and a panel with a couple of buttons. You put the rod in the chair, press Select and toggle through 4 fish selections then press Start. The screen then starts with a view from a boat. You wait until you start wondering if the machine is broken and then the rod almost gets yanked out of the chair. Then you watch the fish on the screen as it jumps and dives while you try to keep the rod tip up and reel in the line without yanking the hook out of the fish's mouth.

I don't know. I've worked around boats for 30 years but never go fishing.

No, we wouldn't want that . . . they've got plenty of playground for that.

I'm doing alright, been working on some other things lately which have limited my time here. It's just soooo exciting here, how do I manage. These must be the dog days of winter, or cabin fever, or both. A little early for either . . . we still have a while to go. Oh well!
