FINALLY!
It took seven days to move off page 72 . . . a record for slowest moving active thread.
Thankfully most of the snow has melted, so things are looking up. We had over a week of temps in the 50s and 40s in the NY Metro area. The rain we had a couple days ago wasn't hard enough to really wash off the roads the way I like it, so I won't be doing any riding until it does.
Yes, I'm a weenie . . . I won't let my bike sit with grime and salt on it, and in the winter it's too much trouble to clean it off since the hoses are all disconnected and all, soooo . . . . .
I'll wait.
It won't be long now.

BillyD, maybe you should get a beater bike or a mountain bike so you can get some saddle time when the roads are sloppy?
I know our weather doesn't compare with yours but my mtb is caked with mud and sand right now and it doesn't bother me. Also, my older road bike has the pads ground down and the rims looking worn after a few rain rides.
It is a pain to clean your nice bike and then get it filthy again. What bike do you have, btw?

You'll be sadly disappointed to hear...nothing very flattering.
Oh, wait...were you asking me or Billy?

But I tell ya, some of these guys might be starting to get to me because I'm slooowly moving toward the idea of getting a beater bike for the winter. Slooooowly getting there.
I hate them guys!!!

Unfortunately for you, Billy and all you other east-coasters, my weather makes its way to you after it is done with me. So, enjoy...it is slippery mess out on the roads right now.

Well played, Chip. Well played.
Guess we'll never really know for certain.
Nice try, Billy. I rarely post photos of myself in any state...don't hold your breath for something sans clothing.

I just returned from a brisk walk, and let me tell you, I'm appalled. Every car that came by kicked up a cloud of dust, no doubt containing salt and dirt and every pollutant that hasn't been washed away in 3 months.
And I'm going to breathe all that **** in to take a bike ride?? I don't think so!! That's crazy! And we're so concerned about our health and weight and all, yet we're going to fill our lungs with SALT??? I don't think so!!
Until we get a couple of good heavy rains to wash all that dust down the drain it's the gym for BillyD, baby!
I am appalled!!

What? Not possible. Gary doesn't ride outside unless he is racing. We all know he was on the rollers in his basement this morning.

Perhaps. I know I start to go crazy after my hour on them. Can't imagine putting in more than an hour at a time.

Spectacular day here today! Clouds and sun with temps in the 40s and 50s and I did 90 miles with about 6 or 7K feet of climbing with some friends. Nobody brought a camera, so you'll have to trust me.
My legs hurt a little, haven't been doing longer rides for a couple weeks.
Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

Now, I'm sitting with my lappy, eating chocolate and watching corny movie clips on YouTube. It's a great weekend.

One time I was going on a bike trip and the wife's car was at the bottom. There was a foot and a half of snow the night before so I had to dig the whole thing out. I put WD-40 on the shovel to help.
Yeah, I miss those days.

Yes. Two driveways. A friend is out of town & I'm clearing that driveway, too. There wasn't enough snow to really make me tired...only about 3 inches. Took not quite an hour to do both.

They must have been little driveways.
You know, parking spaces aren't usually considered driveways.

Well, I do live in the city. Our houses are close together and we have short driveways.
