Isaac Impulse-Anyone have one cuz I just ordered
one. Here is a picture of one but I only ordered the frameset which includes fork, headset and seatpost. I have been eyeing this model for a year and never liked the previous paint and graphics.
This model is so "smart" looking and understated IMO, that I had to pull trigger. Under 1000 grams for 55.5cm so they say. I will take my time building it up and am considering 09 Sram Rival or Force. I may save some $ by transferring wheels from other bike and try to build this as cheaply as possible.
I think I can get a sub 16lb even with Rival. I am in no rush so I may sell of my Litespeed Classic and Trek 5500. Never ridden one of these but I read good things.

I've been looking at this frame as a possibility for next year's race bike. Be sure to let me know how you like it.

Isaac is impulsive?
Isacc's have had some rave reviews in a few magazines I've read.
Lucky you, remember to post pics once you get it.

Well, I don't know if I referred to Isaac in particular because this was a frame I have been coveting for past year. Yes, at $2800 retail I thought it was overpriced but at 30% off, I could accept it and I pulled the trigger. Look, I am not saying and never said Cervelo, Pinarello etc don't make great bikes.
In fact, I almost pulled trigger on the Cervelo RS when it was on sale but it was too common looking for my tastes. Do I think this Isaac is going to be "better" than my Mongoose or a Pedal Force? Different, but not better as the latter is often subjective given the less expensive frame is not "cheap" but rather only costs less but has good quality. That is my point about carbon fiber. I think you can have a less expensive frame but of good quality. My Kinesis made Mongoose proves that to me.
This Isaac appeals to me aesthetically and happens to get awsome reviews in magazines which I do respect in their case as they aren't big advertisers in the magazines and feel reveiwers can be more objective. I like basic colors and tasteful graphics and that coupled with Isaac's reputation for making solid bikes made the sale price more easily digested. But it is still overpriced.
I am gonna probably build it up with 2009 Rival that I will buy at the LBS, swap wheels from an older bike and pick up some Ritchey Wet handlebars and stem. Hopefully I am looking at a total build price of under $3200.

Did you already order? glorycycles.com has the frame for sale for $1999. That's about 30% off; just wondered if that's the place you were looking at.

I actually referred to the more expensive Isaac Sonic which I said "I LOVED", but didn't think was a good value at $3200. At the "right price", I will consider any frame, but I just won't pay retail. So, yes I referred to Isaac but not in a bad way because I wanted one, but not at that price.

I'm in love with Isaac bikes; I've been wanting one since I started really riding two years ago.
I'm very jealous of you, please post lots of pictures and a detailed ride report. Or just ship it to me for a week.

The Zipp is a nice crank but I may just have to go with 2009 Sram Rival on this bike. I'd rather put that on my Trek 5500 if I don't sell it.
Before getting my Mongoose Bosberg which came with Rival, I always put Dura Ace on all my bikes. To be honest, the 08 Rival is good stuff so the 2009 is even better and lighter. There is a part of me that says this frame "deserves" the the new Dura Ace 7900, but man, $2600 is a lot of money. I will decide as I go, but the 08 Rival works as well as my DA 7800 but is not as smooth.
I am going to buy the group from the LBS because I feel a little guilty about not buying a frame from them, but the Parlee, Cervelos, Colnagos, Look that they sell are just way more than I want to spend and none of them are as appealing to me as the Isaac. I waited for the Isaac all year to come down in price.
