Which of these would be better..
Hi guys/gals I live in Fort Lauderdale,Fl,mainly flat... :-) I'm trying to decide what wheels I should put on my new bike..I like/love Rolf,in the past I used the Elan Aero and liked them a lot but now I'm thinking more and more for the Vigor SL,does anybody used the Vigor SL and can give me a feed back?,I like to go as fast as I can and was told the Vigor SL's are better than the Elan Areos for such a purpose, the Elan Aeros are more for climbing... below are the two wheels... any imput will be apreciated..
Elan Aero..

I looked at rolf when I was in the market for a new wheelset, and decided that they were more than I wanted to spend, or didn't meet my needs.
I ended up with a pair of 30mm wheels form Mike Garcia, and so far they have been perfect. One of the guys at my LBS also has a pair of hoops from Mike. (BTW he is here in FL... St Pete)
since you want something for flat, Like most of Florida is, you might look at the soul s4.0 wheels. they seem to get good reviews. or you could go the way of Pcad and got some Williams 38 carbon clinchers.
I think I covered all the popular choices as of late and hits everything from $500 to $1000... if I recall the Rolf's fall in the middle.
I would be concerned about the long term durability of the low spoke count rolf wheels... though they really do look cool, and are light.

Hey, there are some pretty steep over passes.
flordia has absolutely zero climbing, so really, don't worry at all about weight. Just go aero. That being said, for the price of Rolf wheels, you might as well get some heavy but more areo wheels like the sol 40's, williams (something big) ect and burn the remainder on something else. Maybe save it to move out of flordia.

Thanks,I'm 165-170 lbs so they will hold me well,as I said I used the Elan's for a while for long rides and did good with them until I sold the bike but I've being told that Vigor's are better for faster longer rides..

It was a joke: the OP once justified replacing a perfectly good bike by claiming that it "flexed in cross winds."

Given the choices, Vigor. Less spokes, more aero. IMO Rolfs are more $ than what you get. Haven't used them. Just looking at the prices

I live a little further north than you and do similar riding as well. Maybe longer distances than you, but similar in any case. Given the choices you have, I would pick neither of them. Get a set of carbon 50+ mm in depth regardless of whether t is clincher or tubular. Your choice there. Many out to choose from ranging from the carbon wheels sold by bikeisland.com to Reynolds and everything in between. Many choices and a large price range. Narrow it more and we'll narrow more the recommendation.
