Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Skins cycling specific products are due March 2009 per the website.

^Only for recovery. At training camp they would get off the bike, shower, and then put the Skins on. They would stretch with them on, and then use "The Stick". They would leave the Skins on until it was time to get dressed for the ride the next day.

yes. I use the skinz full tight and it seems to help me feel fresher after a hard ride then when I don't use them after.

How does the sizing run on the Skins tights? I wear medium bibs, but am 6'2". I'm going to give these a try.

Thanks, this is helpful (all the replies are). Due to scheduling necessity, for the next two months I'll have two days of the week that will be really hard, high intensity days. So I've been looking into how to recover fast, and well. Seems like Skins might really help.

+1 for the Skins tights. I'm a recent convert to them (bought them at a Boxing Day 25% off sale) and was quite skeptical before using them but my legs disagree and think they're great! I just wear them around the house after training or a race. I'm wearing them now actually! They don't have much in the way of thermal properties so they aren't much good to protect you from the cold, so that actually makes them ok to wear in Summer.

Another sizing question. According to the Skins sizing chart I'm right in between xs and s. I'm 5'10" and weight 127-132lbs depending. They say xs is what I need but I'd like to be sure.

By the way, www.gottaridebikes.com seems to have the best deal right now at $109.95 w/free shipping and 15% off if you've never ordered from them.

If you're not sure, get the smaller size.

These are, after all, compression tights.

I wore them all the way to Hawai'i (from DC) and didn't suffer any of the normal leg fatigue or foot swelling that I normally do with west coast flights.

Actually, if you're on the cusp, go one size smaller with legs, and one size bigger with upper body.

My team is sponsored by NormaTec. They gave us two MVP units that use compressed air to massage your legs. They are so much better than tights!

I weigh about 8-9lbs less than you and I am the same height. I have been thinking of purchasing the skins in xs but am a little worried about the length. I have an inseam of around 30.5"

I went ahead and ordered the travel/recovery tights in xs. I figured, as bdcheung said, "These are, after all, compression tights."

I'm not to worried about it though, I'd imagine that the sizing system doesn't run as small as most high end cycling gear because it's not cycling specific. I guess I'll find out.

If you can wait I can let you know what the fit's like.

No chamois. They're not cycling specific.

Not the travel/recovery tights at least.
