Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wheels came today. Much faster than anticipated. Superior Lite - Race Wheels.
1550 grams total w/o skewers. Should be a nice addition to the Allez or the Giant.

Nah, I am keeping the Spinergys. Those wheels ride awesome, and will be great backup race wheels. I am a little worried about going tubular with these new Zipps as well. I am thinking of making them my new training wheels.

They have a no fault replacement program. I am not sure how it works, but they basically give you a good deal on some new Spinergys when you send them in. I wonder if it is less than you can get them on ebay for. There is a set of FCTs on there right now for less than a grand right now. I really do like the way my FCCs ride.

i hear they just make you send pictures/proof of destruction of the rev-x wheels. they are high milage first gen wheels. i couldnt sell them in good faith.

my dad still has a set of very low milage late rev-x wheels from his racing days. they are mint.

Keep us posted about that saddle; it's at least the second one around here I've seen that's owned by a BF'er.

Anyone have experience with these guys?

My bike has hydraulic disc brakes so supposedly drop bars aren't an option. But I can make anything work - usually.

Speaking of saddles. I picked up a Selle Italia Kit Carbonio Flow a couple weeks back to replace my Toupe Team, that made it's way to my bad weather bike. I like it allot so far after a few trainer sessions, except it was 6g heavier than advertised, but oh well.

I'm pretty sure it's because of this:

The reservoir would be in an awkward position and the cable would be sticking almost straight up.

However, I have no problem upgrading the brakes (keeping hydraulics) and replacing the bars with a cyclocross drop setup. I actually wouldn't mind replacing the entire front end (including brakes) for a lightweight cyclocross setup.

Ordered a pair of Time RXS Carbon pedals. I liked my LOOK Keo Classics well enough, but hated the lifespan of the cleats.

They look like they are already laced up? Are you planning on taking them apart and rebuilding them?

Could you give us the real life weight on those ? They are quoted 1400g I would like to know if they are on-target weight wise.

Today I received a Timex Zone Trainer HRM. I am finally getting serious about training.
