Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. No April Fools from USPS today. From Ribble, 4 business days and no fees, duties, etc.

The frameset should arrive Thursday and I'll have the Noah Pro back on the road in time for the weekend.

I bought a front wheel today - 26 inch, good Shimano hub, good Ritchey rim, good Cheng Shin tire. Um, I never had a tire so hard to get off the rim -ugh! No, it's not a good Cheng Shin tire, but that goes without saying. It's going to get replaced. The tire is for a Schwinn S-30 (full suspension) I bought at a moving sale a few days ago for five bucks. The wheel was $25, go figure.

Placed an order yesterday for a pair of ZIPP 303's, a ZIPP Vuka Sprint handlebar, and a Rotor PF30 - GXP bottom bracket.

Given the weather this year, this represents the triumph of hope over experience:

The only thing left to find for the build are shifters and tires.

So far this season I've had the ass-hatchet blues.

We'll see if this is an improvement.

I just got my 3T Tornova Stealth handlebar. Here's a side by side shot compared to the 3T Rotundo Pro(traditional drop):

I was considering a Thomson bar, let me know what your thoughts are on it.

Sorry, as I don't have a scale to weigh this part(s).

I like the internal cable routing, and it does have the characteristics of the traditional, round bends of the Rotundo. A deeper drop as well which is great.

Great daily tires. Commuting tires you could race on, actually.

Overall pretty satisfied. Have a few hundred miles on new Thomson road bars, in that time I have pulled as hard as I ever did on previous bars (back and forth on steep hills etc), and haven't noticed any deflection or anything to give me pause. They definitely feel more substantive even though they are lighter than the bars I took off (Zipp Contour SL size 46 which were a few grams heavier) but that's because there's more volume of bar in my hands, and not because they feel any "stiffer" in how I'd use that term. They are light and attractive. My size 44 are 187 grams, under advertised weight. These are everyday bars, not that I'm a racer or anything like that. Drop and reach feel good for my average sized hands, much more natural than the "short and shallow" Zipp (which are sitting in the basement waiting to be sold cheaply if anyone is looking).

I hope you're in their saddle program in case this doesn't work for you.

I use that saddle and it works for me.
