Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Unfortunately I'll be using my white Laser aero helmet for a while longer.

The new Deda stem finally came...pretty sure the logo decals will need to come off! And only 10 grams over the advertised weight...about what to expect from Deda...

Ward titanium replacement spindles for my speedplay zero pedals...with this purchase, I fear I may have crossed over a weight weenie OCP threshold from which there is no return...

I bet you lose those 10g if you remove the bolts from the stem.

Bolts? Who needs bolts? Just a few drops of industrial strength super glue is all you need to keep thinks like that on the bike. glue is a lot lighter then steel bolts.

I was thinking that's probably how Deda calculated the advertised weights...

Even better...don't have to bother with those pesky torque measurements...

New bike - 2011 Masi Speciale fixed. Decided to try SS, then fixed gear (46/16).

So far a lot of fun!

Won a 3T ARX Team stem on Ebay under the "bike parts not working" category for ~$18. The stem had a broken titanium screw stuck in one of the four front mounting holes. I mounted the stem vertically on a block and carefully drilled a ~1/8" diameter hole all the way through the stuck screw, then used the smallest "easy out" to back out the broken piece. Turns out the threads are not damaged at all. Now I have a like-new stem in my parts bin!
