Park Tool TS-2.2p Wheel Truing Stand plus the TSB-2 base and new Park spoke wrenches to replace the crappy ones I had. One of my "resolutions" for this year was to start doing my own wheel work and with the number of bikes in my home, doing the work myself will pay for the stand before long.

@VwFix I swear by Pro4 and always ride 25c tires myself, so good choice, but you're not going to get on the bike and magically be noticeably "faster".

one does not gain a mile per hour, it just doesn't work like that, it's not how numbers work. Your rolling resistance may decrease with a number of factors, including tires, pressure, etc. but there are an infinite amount of other factors as well, so for someone to say they got new tires and are a mile an hour faster is funny. If I usually ride 3mph I can now ride 4? if I usually do 28mph I can now do 29? I assume these numbers are static, and are unaffected by grade, wind direction and speed, level of traffic on the road creating drafts, and temperature and clothing. Those things don't matter if you have the right tires, right?

I figured I will not. As long as my rear tire stops sliding out in turns on damp roads I will be happy lol. Plus this things are about 125 grams lighter a tire than my current setup.

Okay laugh at me if you want. All I know is that after I changed my tires the next 4 times I rode my 2 usual routes I was (almost) a mile per hour faster. And each time it was windy as usual.
Of course I am a newbie who has only had a road bike since September - over 1000 miles now on my Synapse. Nope, I don't really know what I am talking about. (Maybe I am just getting stronger )
Then I changed my rear cassette from 11-34 to 11-32 and have lost that 1 mph by 3/10ths. (Could be the winter stronger wind...)
Now I have had a bike fit and changed my seat post to get a little closer and stem. My stem went from a +12 to a -8 degree. So maybe I'll gain back that 3/10ths.

Speed change from cassette swap makes sense as your speed is a direct correlation between your gearing and pedaling cadence. if you pedal in 11x52 at 70rpm on one set of tires the speed will be the same on another set of tires. It might be that new tires have less rolling resistance so it takes a little less effort to maintain speed + getting into better shape attributed to your average speeds going up.

I got a new helmet and a Knog Road R light yesterday. My old helmet was a mountain bike style and was heavy on my neck. I didn't get anything fancy just a specialized propero 2. I was going to get a Kali but they didn't have my size and considering the price difference I'm glad they didn't

I also just bought in to a private hunting club that only has 3 other members. I now have access to 6 thousand acres for mountain biking. Best part is I can bring friends. And I'm family/good friends with the other members so no issue with others being there when I am using the property

Wanted to try out another seat style, and keep losing eBay auctions. The bike is blue/white, so I guess I finally go this because 'Merica. I may now have to throw a little red tape on the aero bars so it's not an isolated hint of red.

Just picked up a Cobble Gobbler seat post for my 2004 Roubaix. Hopefully it will help my lower back a little on the large potholes of NE Ohio.
