Been out on a few rides lately where it got below freezing. Nice warm jacket on the way. Like the black reflective patches too.

@znomit, I've had a Castelli jacket like that for a few months. I didn't like the price, but I sure do like the jacket, and now I have no regrets about buying it. It gives a lot of warmth and comfort for the small amount of fabric.

8 inner shift cables and a 'Buff'.
Embarrassing, but trying to keep sun off the ears. |

Tubeless tires
I bought a couple of Schwalbe Almotion 700/38 tires and mounted them tubeless on my Dyad rims using two layers of tape and Joe's sealant. Nice rolling tires and the lower pressures this setup permits makes for a smooth ride. I'm optimistic about the promise of no more flats but we'll see.

I just picked these up at a local garage sale and got a really good deal on them!
|
You probably got a deal because of the hole on the rear one.
|
****! I'm taking them back!

They definitively looks like the pictures in the others thread about Meilenstein wheels...

I just ordered one of these to give it a shot, seems well reviewed. Hoping this works out, the 1-10Nm range on a single tool should be really handy for 99% of my build and repair tasks-will just need to pull out the old beam wrench for big stuff like BBs and Cranks.

Picked up another pair of Jawbreakers so I could mix and match my sets. Love how they all turned out. Here are a couple of my combinations

I just got a Saris SuperClamp Hitch mount, 2 bike, rack.
I rarely transport a bike anywhere.... I normally just ride. When I have transported my bike I used to just throw it in the back of my pick-up (but I got rid of the truck). I didn't think I'd miss that. But with the heat were having now... I would have really liked to take my bike to the bike path for a ride early this morning. I don't like riding in traffic during the rush hours... and by later this morning... it was already hot. Tomorrow... I should be able to get in a 20-25 mile ride.... before the temp reaches 80. |
Got some replacement rings to tweak the SUGINO Mighty Tour cranks on my '79 Fuji America. Here's the old configuration:
http://i.imgur.com/Ty7XeDj.jpg 53/44/36, with a 14-16-19-22-26-30 freewheel. The old setup results in lots of gearing redundancy: http://i.imgur.com/molJndo.png Apparently Sugino still makes silver 110BCD chainrings for their vintage cranks, so... here's the new rings. http://i.imgur.com/krmwsLq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZE5UJIc.jpg Middle ring is being switched from 44 to 42. This should give me decent 1.5-step shifting between the middle and large ring. And, small ring is being switched from 36 to 34. Mostly just because I can; the wrap of the rear derailleur was being underutilized by a few teeth, I get a slightly lower granny gear, and there are no obvious downsides. New gearing, 53/42/34, 14-16-19-22-26-30: http://i.imgur.com/LIRA1Ze.png |
