But after trying it and feeling it on my fingers, I'm wondering whether that whitish residue that sinks to the bottom is mostly PTFE.

Got it yesterday - like the design, all metal and easy to set in the handlebar. |

What brand of light is this? Thanks.
Didn't use yet, will use first time on my commute home today :) UPDATE: I rode tonight with the light - I had both lights on now and was much more brighter. Didn't try the new one solo, but it seems a bit brighter than the Blitzu one I have. Probably will be riding with both during the dark early evening of the winter. Have to try the rear light that is also rechargeable. |
Today I received a new 1" threaded Crane Creek aheadset, a new Soma Highway One handlebar, and a Park BB-69.2 tool. Looking like a lot of rain tomorrow, so I now have bicycle related things to do. With a bit of good fortune, we will get the late afternoon clearing that is forecasted, and I can collect ride dividends from my labor.

New bike added to the stable. It’s a 2019 Cervelo R5 Disk in Team Sunweb colors.

A Sram PG850 12-23 8-speed cassette (no real climbs on my commute) chosen for it's low cost but impressively shiny and impressively light. |
Picked up some shoes, pedals, and a power meter for my gravel bike (I do wish Stages offered a GRX option). I had originally planned to use my road shoes/power meter pedals, but quickly discover that that was a bad idea.

Got a K-Edge Combo forward mount for my Wahoo Elemnt, plus a Trek/Bontrager Universal mount for the Ion 200 RT light. Got tired of having that rubber band mount on my handlebars.
Works a treat and feels much cleaner now! |
Picked up an Axiom rear rack for the e-bike. Just finish installing the fenders and the rack.
Fenders got a bit bent in two spots for rear and one spot on front during the shipping - just installed since functionality is what matters. Front fender (no pic) back side was too high, so rotate a bit back and for that have to open some holes and move the hardware that attaches to the fork. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9ab6fabbe0.jpg |
new rear cassette, front chain rings, bottom bracket, chain, handlebar tape and brake cable housing. It's time for major overhaul.

I believe Stages does offer a GRX option.

I'd be interested in hearing how those work out. I'm considering some easy on/off fenders for one of my bikes (all purpose street, light gravel, etc). I've used standard SKS Bluemels but don't really trust rigid fenders anymore, even with breakaway mounts. I've had way too much debris snag my wheels without fenders. No harm done, but it could have gotten ugly caught in a standard rigid mount front fender. It's almost impossible to avoid sticks, twigs, construction debris, etc, in some areas I ride.
I have about 25 miles on them over several rides, including a wet ride. They do the job and keep the bike clean. And I’m happy with them. You can see what I mean about the Velcro in the pics below. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8294b185b.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7cf22673b.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3bdb34cc8.jpeg |

update. These are great! I don’t even notice them while ridin. No rattles, nice and light and easy to adjust if you want to change up the clearance to the tires. The only downside is the Velcro attachments will show on different sized frames. They happen to show a lot on mine, making it look like they’re mounted incorrectly, which is not very appealing. Not a deal breaker for me, but I could see it being a big deal to some.
