Ti bikes do come by, just be patient. I got mine from a fellow BF member: a mint 2.5 y.o. Litespeed full Ultegra for $1,300.
I was happy, seller was happy. I do intend to ride this bike into the ground, hopefully that will happen in some decades from now.
On a side note, just returned from a 40 miler after 2 weeks off due to a cold on my alu specialized bike (tricross on road tyres) damn those frames are rigid! right up my alley

In response to the poster who suggested that I make my own nuanced decision, I one hundred percent agree. I think that for me the prospect of having a frame which is very durable and long lasting, while also being lightweight is most appealing to me. Comfort is also a factor. This is why I am going to likely go with titanium. It could be a long road to find the one I want, but, to me, it seems to be the best fit.

I ended up going with a Litespeed Tuscany in a 1999 or 2000 model, with full Dura Ace components. I will post my thoughts on the bike as I become accustomed to it.
