Me:
Santana Tandem mid '80s with kid adapter for the stoker
Klein Quantum II mid '90s (vacation home spare for guests)
Specialized Tarmac Pro '05 (vacation home)
Specialized Roubaix Pro '06 fitted with 28 tires for trails or foul weather commuting
Look 585 '07 dry weather commuting
Look 595 '08 for sunny Sundays (which lives inside the house not the garage).
My Wife:
Santana Tandem mid '80s
Klein Quantum II mid '90s (vacation home spare for guests)
Specialized Tarmac Expert '06 (vacation home)
Specialized Roubaix Elite '07 including a second pair of wheels with 28 tires for trails
We have a large garage that still has room for a couple of classic steel touring bikes.
We haven't ridden the tandems since our kids out grew them. But, we keep them for the memories.

4.
1 - Jamis XLT 2.0 FS MTB (my favorite)
2 - Soma Rush fixed gear (for fun[I rode this one all winter and now find I'm a far better spinner on my MTB! Surprise benefit!])
3 - Schwinn Suburban SS (bar bike/cruiser)
4 - Schwinn Circuit (will be my commuter for when I move to a hillier area as well as my 1st real road bike. It's not built yet...)
Now I just need to get a hardtail MTB and I'll be all set...maybe...

Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)

We have about 15 or 16 bikes. It's hard to keep track. There are about four I ride regularly. One is my wife's, one is my older daughter's. My younger daughter likes to keep three or four to herself. The rest are hobby bikes for me. I buy bikes cheap at police auctions, garage sales, etc, and fix them up and give them away. Fixing bikes makes me happy, so I don't need money to do it. It's worth spending money on for me.

Let's see....
CF super bike for road racing (2008 Bianchi 928).
Family guy TT-on-the-cheap bike (2000 Trek 5200).
Steel classic roadie for sunny Sundays (1986 Gazelle Champion Mondial).
FG road bike for commuting/rain training (1989 Trek 660).
So that's four, in rideable condition. What I really need is a proper CX bike. And I'd really love a vintage steel track bike. And a townie. And a vintage path racer.

Giant OCR 1: Racing and long charity riding (when I start doing it this summer)
Trek 1000: Training and inner city commuting
I am planning on doing one of the following:
- Getting an older, mid-level Colnago or Pinarello...or
- Getting a mid-level frame and building it up to the max...or
- Getting a time trial frame and building it up slowly.
With the exception of the last decision, I will probably compensate by selling my Trek for someone who will hopefully use it like I did. I really love that bike, though...so I might keep it for inner city commuting or hill training (because climbing anything with a 25+ pound road bike is nice training).

Four:
A Kuota Kharma road bike
Surly Pacer road
Surly LHT touring bike
Bianchi single speed.
All four really do serve very different purposes. The Kuota is strictly for racing, the Pacer is my training bike and the LHT is my tool around town grocery getter and occasionally for actual touring. The Bianchi is just fun for goofing off on and I can throw it in the back of my truck without worrying about throwing something out of adjustment.

I have one less bike now. The old road racing frame has been retired and its parts transferred to my backup frame for a training bike which makes the total 5.

CF road bike (Specialized Ruby)
Steel sport touring (Surly Pacer)
Touring (LHT)
Commuter (Novara Randonee)
Hardtail mtb (Gunnar Rockhound)
I really like them all and it would be hard downsize, to give any of them up.
They all live in our small apartment with my SO's 6 bikes. We like having the bikes all around us!

Three Bikes:
- 1 Marinoni SL Steel Campy C-Record from 1984 that I haven't ridden since 2004
- 1 Kutoa Kredo from 2004
- 1 Marinoni custom Ti that's coming next week
Why? The Marinoni was getting old with the downtube shifters so when I came back from my first euro bike trip, I splurged on a new tech carbon bike, which I love.
The Ti that's coming is a replacement for a mtn bike that was stolen last summer that I was using as my commuter... I still have to find a cheap commuter for this summer but the insurance gave me some good money for the stolen bike so I thought I would try Ti for fun
I really should fix the old steel Marinoni for having fun around town - I won't be suing it for the commute though, as it won't last 5 minutes before being stolen where I work (I thought my old mtn bike was unattractive to thieves...)

2, because that's all I can afford. My Masi, and a beater MTB. Next up on the list will be another road bike, but with gears this time. After that, maybe a TT bike, just because? Oh, and someday I'd love to own a p-far. Again, just because.
