Like many aluminium frames, they're light enough, strong, stiff, fast-feeling, less likely to crack if you bump into the door frame on your way out, and they're 3, 4 or 5 times cheaper than some carbon frames
For example, on this site, the aluminium Cervelo S1 frame-set is $1,200, and the Pinarello Prince is $5,500

And the S1 feels like you're jogging in petroleum jelly.

Is that good or bad?
Do you think they're flexy? I have a 2007 Soloist, and, while I have a couple of stiffer alu frames, the Soloist can't be called flexy. I figure the only thing that could mush up the ride of a Soloist would be crappy, flexy, weight weenie wheels and/or a crappy, flexy, weight weenie fork

Just buy it because we said so. The BF Seal of Approval should be enough, now go make a Cannondale dealer happy.

Nahh I'm just being a jerk, it was a nice frame but it was tested in my case against a System Six and an S3... the System Six was super super super super super super laterally stiff, the S3 was the same stiffness but a softer ride and a much tighter feeling bike, then I hopped on the S1 and found it just too close to my Trek 1500, it was definitely stiffer but not insanely stiffer and more aggressive like the System Six was, I was just a bit under impressed.
