The Most Annoying Thing to Say When Passing

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm tempted to throw a jar of Gray Poupon in my trunk bag just in hopes somebody ever says that to me.

But for irritating, how bout pointing to their bike and saying "There's a loose bolt right there".

Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)

Not irritating, but a frined of mine caused a minor wreck on a MUP by saying "ding ding" when passing someone. The guy she did it to laughed so hard he stopped without unclipping and fell over.

In the 90's, two of my teammates made a habit of asking the mustard question every vehicle they pulled up next to at a red light. Most people were confused, a couple of them simply said no, and one of them cracked a smile.

Most annoying thing to say while passing:

"Hey look it's Lance Armstrong!"

Nothing at all.

I've found saying something confuses people, since they may not be able to make out what you are saying. I just pass them making sure I leave enough room for them to do something stupid and not get me involved. Who rides MUP's anyways?

Not as much as the fact that you have a Moots and I don't. That, and those god awful ugly unshaven legs.

I came upon a rider who had stopped on the side of the road and 3 cars had just pulled up behind her and stopped, the cars were not with her but I shouted anyways "you've got 3 cars for a sag wagon?"

It's very rare to see other riders where I ride, but I've got some good ideas next time I do.

Annoying is too simpleton of a word and it really err annoys me. Lets use one of these... I really like vexatious it seems to be more curt.
irritating, boring, disturbing, provoking, teasing, harassing, aggravating, troublesome, galling, maddening, exasperating, displeasing, bedeviling, peeving ,irksome, bothersome, vexatious.
