Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I would think the most annoying thing I would ever hear would be some ninny criticizing me for wearing my music headphones while riding.
Fortunately I'ven't heard it yet; just a few moving lips and furious looks.

I try to play head games in the hillclimb races...

As I am passing a racer (remember the speed is 6 mph but HR through the roof)...

I will calm my breathing and in a steady voice say...

"Hang in there, you're doing great" or "Beautiful day for a ride"...

They look at you with the WTF look...

Then fall off your wheel...

When ever I pass a serious rider they just always look pissed. So I just quit saying anything.

I was doing a collegiate TT, and was starting right behind my coach. She told me to say something nice as I passed her. I told her I was going to make a motorcycle noise, like "brrrrmmmmmm brrrrrrrmmmm" about 3 minutes after I started I passed her up hill, made the motorcycle noise, then lost all my breath laughing as she called me a jerk. It was awesome.

I was eating a sandwich climbing a hill on my commute and blew past another rider.
At least I said hi but it still annoyed him.

Fart.

Loudly.

Be careful not to crap your pants, though, poo is not an effective chamois cream.

I think the Howard Dean Scream would have to be pretty high on the annoying list.
