Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I made a run for Angeles Crest today. Only got as far as Crystal Lake. I started my ride at Encanto Park. I was toast by the time I got to 5000'. Started getting cramps and such, so decided to start my descent. This was my 2nd climb to Crystal Lake. My goal is to get all the way to Dawson's Saddle before weather makes this ride undoable.

I've probably seen that view on a bike 100+ times.

BTW if you live in Esco sometimes just point your bike east and you get some pretty open roads.

Beautiful pictures, Ice41000, thanks for sharing them. I'd be interested in seeing more pictures from Croatia, as I don't really have a good idea of what the local scenery would look like.

Just wondering what kind of camera you guys are carrying with you. Some of the pictures are spectacular and abviously not taken with your phone's camera or a P&S! I have a nice DSLR camera, but I really don't want to take it on rides.

Mine are taking with a P&S camera. Sony WX-1. The quick run through Lightroom to tweak the exposure and contrast is what makes them pop.
