Kredo Ultra or Orca

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Kredo Ultra or Orca

Just sold my CR1 and time to get a new ride. Found a Kredo Ultra in my size with Ultegra 10 and Fulcrum 5's for $3100. Seem like a good deal? I love the looks of these frames but have never ridden or seen one in person, i'd have to order online.

An LBS has an 08 Orca with Force not sure on wheelset, they want $3800 but I might could talk them down. I hear Orca's are fragile, seen a lot of cracked frames on here.

Which would you go for? Anyone have any experience with kuotas?

Any other recommendations for mid $3's right now, any crazy deals I should know about? Thanks!

Don't get the Orca, I am starting to see too many of them on the road. :-)

You can pretty much find problem reports with any bike frame or bike part. After 7000+ miles my early 07 Orca is doing fine. At 6'2" and 175lbs I have sat on my top tube and hit a few large bumps along the way. If there was something fundamentally wrong with the Orca design I think I would have experienced it by now.

Bikes: '07 Orbea Orca "06 Bianchi Castro Valley

I weigh about 185-190, and have an '07 Orca, too. Lots of miles, and I sit on the top tube at stopllights, no problem. I don't baby it at all, and have had good luck with it. I even crash tested it the weekend before last. 18.6 mph to 0 in about a second. My feelings and my butt were hurt, but my bike was fine.
