Easton EA70s vs Ksyrium Elites

I am a huge fan of Elites. I have no experience of the Eastons. Nothing I say can be unbiased on this topic but what I can say is that Vireo is sort of right but has expressed his opinion in such a way that his true thoughts are belied by it.
Elites are not bad in crosswinds. SLs are pretty interesting at times. It's a small price to pay for what is essentially a great wheelset. Don't pay RRP though.

I don't know how anyone who actually rides Elites can like 'em. Maybe they just haven't ridden anything else? They are HORRIBLE in crosswinds. My Zipp 404's were better.

I have a set on elites and they are great. Plenty of places to find them well off of MSRP.

I thought about that too, the ea90 sl wheels maybe a little more than I want to spend but the ea90 aero wheels are in the price range, but I've heard that those wheels are not as stiff and have had problems with the cassettes digging into the cassette body...would love to hear if anyone has any experiences with these wheels too.

Thanks for all the help guys, I ended up getting the EA70s just because of the price and because they were only about 100g heavier than the other sets. I also preferred getting these because I used to own a pair of Easton/Velomax Circuits which I loved and never caused me any problems; I just sold them to help pay for racing wheels. Thanks guys!

Not to get too technical but . . .
I see all this "bulletproof this" and "bombproof that". Bulletproof, bulletproof, bulletproof. Bombproof, bombproof, bombproof.
Question is: What's the difference between bulletproof and bombproof?

I've had a pair of elites that i had to true every other week, then moved up to some SL's that I haven't had to true after 1400 or so miles. So far so good.
Sorry, no experience with the Eastons.

Ozymandias is bullet proof.
I have no clue what that have would have to do with wheels though since wheels are neither bulletproof or bombproof.

EA70's I actually prefer them to my Ksyrium ES many times, wouldn't even be a second thought against Elites, those wheels are boring.

as far as the spokes. i was really surprised to see that it had zero aero advantage. that is the selling point at most of the LBS. but i don't believe that is Mavic's fault. they flattened them because it is supposed to make them more rigid. People just saw them flattened and assumed they are an aero attribute.
IMO you cant go wrong with either. Easton makes seriously good products all around and the Mavic Kysyrium are quality also.
