Well 1/2 of it is a CAAD 9.

Hey have any of you CAAD 9 owners had problems with the heels of your shoes banging the chain stays? I moved my shoes in a bit to get the pedal closer to the center of my foot and with the play on my Speedplay Zeros being reasonably lose I was banging my heel on the chainstay.

bdcheung 06-24-09 02:32 PM

no.

size 43.5 shoes

Don't be mad because I'm a material ****.

uspspro - I usually don't give a crap what anyone else rides, but that's legit. Pretty close to the ideal amateur race setup.

rear triangle is from a caad9, but the front is full on plastic.

too bad I can't say it's buns of steel, since it's not.

That Caad9 up there with the Edge wheels is friggin hot. In NYC right now, Caad9's, especially in that red/white color scheme, are popping up everywhere.

um.... the point of that bike was specifically that the arse isn't plastic?

I used to have that issue every now and then, but I adjusted my cleats to where they should have been and no issues since.

The chainstays are pretty freaking wide.

Hey now. Don't be hating on Fauxto Nick.

Pablo. 06-24-09 05:30 PM

I rode a Caad9 for a little bit last night. It rode nicely. Probably placebo, but it seemed stiff and responsive. I liked it.

admcptch 06-24-09 07:53 PM

Here's mine. Has an Arione now and Tacx Tao cages, and a Sigma 1606L with cadence. Soon it will have a new wheelset and new bar tape. Any suggestions on bartape colors? Maybe a new stem, who knows. Love it.

Yes, happens to me. I put some painters tape over where they hit. I need to do something better with them though.

Pretty sure I need to adjust my cleats. Could probably solve the problem.

hey- how noticeable is the glitter is that paint? I would love me some charcoal caad9, but if the sparkle count is high I'm afraid I'm out.

Brave brave man.

This is my CAAD9 as it was before I got it setup. My camera finally cashed out, so no current photos. Specs below.

http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...1&d=1245896048

2009 CAAD9 BB30 team frame
Easton EA90 SL fork
Full Ultegra SL (except crank)
Williams 30s
Ritchey WCS cockpit (carbon bars and seatpost)

Since the photo, I swapped the stem for a shorter version of the same and lowered it, swapped the ass-hatchet Ponza for an SMP Evolution, and re-wrapped the bars in white.

Contrary to all the warnings that I read about an aluminum frame like this being jarring and uncomfortable, I find that it is at least as comfortable as my all-steel bikes.

I don't get any heel strike on mine, but I also keep my cleat float adjusted to prevent it.
