The 2010 model is the ticket V.

mrvrsick 07-03-09 06:03 PM

And is that cross-chaining I see?
I don't ride a bicycle if I don't know it's in good working order (der. Stops), so dork disc is a no no, unless is for aero points?? Then minus for weight penalty cuz its not carbon :)

clausen 07-03-09 06:45 PM

Newsflash: If Sram, Campy or Shimano is going to charge $2K+ for a group, you friggin BETTER be able to ride in the 53 x 25, or what's the point? I do it all the time. Well within the tolerances of modern high end components.

'Cross chaining'. What is this the early 80's?

Let's have a discussion about toe clips and bar end shifters next. Then we can all go to the friggin Rivendell website and sing Kum Bay Ya.

davesax36 07-03-09 06:57 PM

I'm going to go remove my valve caps, underseat bag, and headlight mount RIGHT NOW. Ahh, what's the point. I'm slow and ride a Scattante so somebody's gonna give me crap for that anyway for buying a "real" bike. I like it just fine, it's faster than I am, and I will upgrade it when my skills dictate that I should do so. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on those wheels, though.

agarose2000 07-03-09 07:10 PM

Those Aeolus wheels are rockin'. I don't care bout the socks, reflector or stickers - you gimme those wheels and you can call me FRED all day long and I'll still be smiling all the way home.

Pharmr 07-03-09 08:45 PM

he's on his way to being a Capt. in the Fred Cavalry

patentcad 07-03-09 08:46 PM

Nothing is dumber than presta valve caps.

And now the official response from Greg LeMond:

Don't get me wrong, I actually like Greg, in spite of some of his bonehead statements over the last decade. For an American teenager getting in to cycling in the mid 80's, Greg was The Man!

... Is Fredish. And it looks like the lawyer tabs are still on the fork tips.

Maybe it's a borrowed bike, so the rider is pretending to be a fred

Tulex 07-03-09 09:14 PM

Funny thing, he probably is just riding down the road happy as can be. Ask him about all that crap, and he would reply like Botto.

"I don't care"

They are HED rims

pchopper 07-03-09 11:33 PM

Not to be outdone, I'm pulling out my fred cue sheet holder (tried it out for the first time today!)

Turn the knob to scroll down to the next cue

Not shown are the Cosmic Carbones, not particularly useful for me because I never get above 18 mph, but I look so cool

dunningrb 07-03-09 11:39 PM

^^^ What is that thing attached to you computer?

The fact that you put any effort into taking these pictures and then post them on the internet to only discuss this issue even more may say more about you rather than the so called "Fred" riding the Trek. This is why people view many Roadies as insufferable Aholes.

Damn I wish BF had a print list for all the "fred" rules. Makes it easier than having to archive all of these "fredilicious" threads.
What the heck is cross chaining?

Only people who roadies view as insufferable Aholes view roadies as insufferable Aholes.

Everybody else gets it. :thumb:

Most of you missed the fact that his QR is the wrong damn way.

Definitely a Fred.

cyclezealot 07-04-09 12:59 AM

Maybe you're making too much of nothing. Maybe the dude just drove the bike off the lot and has not yet had time to take off those silly OSHA accessories. Are not the shoes Sidi's.. That cancels out on the reflector. ?

Agreed.

Here folks with high end MTBs ride on the road, everybody waves at each other when passing.

That is seriously Fredelicious! But does it work in the rain?

And I'd like to know if I get any Fred points for my transparent dust caps?
