kayakdiver 07-03-09 04:54 PM

So vireo............ when did ya get the new Trek ;)

scotch 07-03-09 04:54 PM

did he think it was weird that you were taking pictures of him? :)

patentcad 07-03-09 04:56 PM

Is that a 2010 or 2009? And if it's a 2009 it's obsolete.

bikeybikebike 07-03-09 04:56 PM

safety stickers still on the bike, reflectors, dork disk, and an unsafe rear skewer position... Are those TUBE socks?

Whatever

:roflmao2: Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Blackberry stealth maneuvers;)

bigfred 07-03-09 05:01 PM

Not.

Probably a brand new bike for him(you). So he hasn't bothered to remove the warning sticker from the fork. I'll never, ever, criticise someone for either leaving or installing reflectors on their bike. I don't have any, but, then again, mine didn't come with any. But what do I do when I wake up for pre-dawn rides? Put a reflective vest or jacket on, turn the head and tail lights on and do just about anything I can to be seen. With regard to spoke protector. If it's brand new and with so few spokes I wouldn't blame anyone for leaving it on, at least until they are sure that the stops are located adjusted and that there is absolutely no chance of dropping the chain.

Assuming those are what you were trying to highlight in your photos.

hairnet 07-03-09 05:05 PM

you can't wear tube socks now?

SpongeDad 07-03-09 05:11 PM

Why don't dork disks get credit for being aero?

cyclezealot 07-03-09 05:12 PM

Not a Fred bike. From what little we see. Is that not a clue to the fact the bike has a cadence meter. ? That's not Fredish.

patentcad 07-03-09 05:16 PM

What's wrong with tube socks?

:roflmao2:

Consider the source. If your friend is a Fred, then how could this guy claim not to be one?

reflector, dork disk, and valve cap = yes.

bonus points for spelling fredelicious correctly.

KiuBWhy 07-03-09 05:33 PM

What's wrong with Valve Caps?

Hear that everyone? I have multiple computers with cadence, so I couldn't possibly be a Fred....

Wait, valve caps are now fredelicious? Some of you people really need to get a grasp on reality, MYOB, and get off the internet.

And I just love how certain safety items are defined the same. A dude runs reflectors (that could possibly keep him from being hit) and he is a fred as well.

They are redundant and they aren't needed either.

You can get almost identically looking sandals that will accept your Frog cleats. Then all you need is a 'bent

bikeride 07-03-09 05:54 PM

Looks like the Trek store was having a going out of business sale.

patentcad 07-03-09 05:56 PM

The 2010 model is the ticket V.

mrvrsick 07-03-09 06:03 PM

And is that cross-chaining I see?
I don't ride a bicycle if I don't know it's in good working order (der. Stops), so dork disc is a no no, unless is for aero points?? Then minus for weight penalty cuz its not carbon :)

clausen 07-03-09 06:45 PM

fuzzy legs

Newsflash: If Sram, Campy or Shimano is going to charge $2K+ for a group, you friggin BETTER be able to ride in the 53 x 25, or what's the point? I do it all the time. Well within the tolerances of modern high end components.

'Cross chaining'. What is this the early 80's?

Let's have a discussion about toe clips and bar end shifters next. Then we can all go to the friggin Rivendell website and sing Kum Bay Ya.

davesax36 07-03-09 06:57 PM

I'm going to go remove my valve caps, underseat bag, and headlight mount RIGHT NOW. Ahh, what's the point. I'm slow and ride a Scattante so somebody's gonna give me crap for that anyway for buying a "real" bike. I like it just fine, it's faster than I am, and I will upgrade it when my skills dictate that I should do so. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on those wheels, though.
