Hmmm, I was going to guess he was demoing the bike. I left some of that stuff on my new bike for the first month just because I could still return it during that time. Now it is all long gone, except the tube socks and hairy legs.

umd when did you upgrade to Cat 2? Excellent news and congrats!!!:thumb:

nonono, cat 3... I can see how it's confusing, but I was trying to be cutsey instead of zero. Cat meter is always your progress to the next category, so my meter is that I'm hanging with the cat 3 pack (not getting dropped)...

Chopper Should you rainproof it..then, you ought to go into business. That has potential. I'd buy one.

Ah, no worries. I won a race last year and one this year as well as a few other good placing and upgraded myself into mediocrity. Of all things I'm having the hardest time keeping position on the downhills.

entukay 07-04-09 01:16 PM

I'm pretty sure I saw the same guy on my ride this morning....

Well if you weren't a Bantamweight rider:roflmao2:

Velo Vol 07-04-09 01:20 PM

I have valve caps on my wheels, therefore it's cool. :thumb:

I believe it is psychological rather than gravitational.

Tsuru 07-04-09 03:03 PM

Can't believe you guys really have a problem with valve caps! Nuts man. I like to keep the tips of my prestas nice and clean considering how often I connect my floor pump to it. Those caps get pretty dirty and I don't want that crap in my pump, thanks.

Tsuru 07-04-09 03:05 PM

But then again, I tend to put the caps in my mouth when I'm pumping the tires up, so *shrug* I guess I care more about my floor pump than my own health and well being? lol.

You have to essentially wipe the little valve screw thing off to open the valve up, I've never had a problem with it being dirty.

yeah, it's probably minimal... oh well, just glad I have no pie-plate, stickers, and tube socks when I ride, I'd hate for one of you guys to snap a photo me and talk about my dorky ass here!

I don't care about fred or whatever, it's just one more thing to deal with when changing a flat.

tkehler 07-05-09 12:48 AM

Hey! I just noticed this thread ... AND the pics of me on my bike. What's up with that? Are you some kind of perv freak or what? Huh? HUH?! What the #(#%+%^**( ??

There better be a good explanation of why these pics of me and my bike and my unshaven legs are appearing on the net, without my permission!

PS -- of course I leave the valve caps on. Do you think I want the air to leak out?

HarryStoddard 07-05-09 01:29 AM

If you two didn't live thousands of miles apart that would have be hilarious.

PBR ME 07-05-09 07:58 AM

thats exactly what i looked like when I rode my bike home from the shop. I didnt care, at least i was riding it, not putting on the roof of my car and driving home. i did eventually take of the stickers, and reflectors. i still have the dork disc, but thats just lazyness. I still have fuzz, and probably will for a while. tube socks? no way!

+1. I would definitely buy one, that's pretty awesome. Much better than my method of folding, putting in a ziplock, and sticking under the front of my jersey where it makes me sweat.

Tsuru 07-05-09 11:24 AM

Had a great ride today... AND no valve caps!

Profoxcg 07-21-09 06:07 PM

What is a FRED?!

MOST important, what is wrong the position of the skewers? Why are they unsafe?

shouldberiding 07-21-09 09:13 PM

If somebody made 8 ball or dice valve caps for presta, you bet your ass I'd be rockin' them.

Wait, they don't make these?? I'm very surprised!

Looks like you did a good job. :thumb:

Thanks to Freds, there is a cycling industry. There is no money in building bikes simply to give them to Tour riders. That is done to sell bikes and equipment to Freds and t works! I don't know why Freds are addressed with such disdain when they are simply put, the industry.
