Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I made it, I'm still trying to think of a simple clear cover to make it rain proof...

blah blah blah

The funny thing is that it seems acceptable to let a Trek with Bontrager wheels roll around with all this Fredness going but if it were Zipps on a Cervelo, or Boras on a Colnago or Pinarello (pick your fantasy bike here) it would be looked at as FREDELICIOUS!

Yeah and this bike is a few months old. I started noticing him back in May. I just finally decided to take a picture.

What's your point?

You know with each stupid post your bury yourself deeper in the Fred Pit.

At least you live in Bergen County, so you have that going for you.

Hmmm, I was going to guess he was demoing the bike. I left some of that stuff on my new bike for the first month just because I could still return it during that time. Now it is all long gone, except the tube socks and hairy legs.

nonono, cat 3... I can see how it's confusing, but I was trying to be cutsey instead of zero. Cat meter is always your progress to the next category, so my meter is that I'm hanging with the cat 3 pack (not getting dropped)...

Chopper Should you rainproof it..then, you ought to go into business. That has potential. I'd buy one.

Ah, no worries. I won a race last year and one this year as well as a few other good placing and upgraded myself into mediocrity. Of all things I'm having the hardest time keeping position on the downhills.

I have valve caps on my wheels, therefore it's cool.

Can't believe you guys really have a problem with valve caps! Nuts man. I like to keep the tips of my prestas nice and clean considering how often I connect my floor pump to it. Those caps get pretty dirty and I don't want that crap in my pump, thanks.

But then again, I tend to put the caps in my mouth when I'm pumping the tires up, so *shrug* I guess I care more about my floor pump than my own health and well being? lol.

You have to essentially wipe the little valve screw thing off to open the valve up, I've never had a problem with it being dirty.

Hey! I just noticed this thread ... AND the pics of me on my bike. What's up with that? Are you some kind of perv freak or what? Huh? HUH?! What the #(#%+%^**( ??

There better be a good explanation of why these pics of me and my bike and my unshaven legs are appearing on the net, without my permission!

PS -- of course I leave the valve caps on. Do you think I want the air to leak out?
