A woman cyclist, Emily O'Brien did the PBP 1200 km under 80 or 90 hrs on a fixed gear, self supported, sleeping gear. etc. So the MASH guys did the ToC but they slept and rested after each stage. This woman slept in wet ground (hardly ) and puked some.

Not a fan of MASH guys because I hardly pay attention to make sound judgement, but I think it's cool they're riding fixed on the tour. Why not? Why do you hate their cadence going downhill? Envious?
They're cyclist just like everyone else. I can't comment on their personalities or agenda, but as cyclist why hate?

What kind of frame/wheels mattm? I had to sell mine last semester when I was broke and needed a new crankset for my roadbike. I had fun on that thing doing long-ish z2 road rides and just tooling around the driveway/neighborhood when I needed a break from studying. Even did some tempo on it here and there over the early part of spring.
And BTW haven't you done 10 races yet???? Or are alot of those reports training/practice crits?

hold on, you still arent following. i never said there was anything wrong with spending money on nice things. im saying when people are like 'its inefficient for them to only have one gear - thats stupid' but then drop $$$ upgrading to dura-ace and tell they friends 'its lighter. you really reap the benefit of every gram shaved' over their poor diet and cigars or something ridiculous. follow?
also, a demographic im an outsider too? how so? i own 2 road bikes. i own a fixed gear. wait, are you one of these guys who puts the word 'culture' at the end of stuff so he can hate/love/whatever it?
please...
