Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

but they can go on for 10 pages about "is wearing a team kit chessy?", times about 100 threads on the subject.

I am ashamed to call them my countrymen. Sorry, Lance is just a guy that rides a bike. Only a bit more of an athlete than Andrew Johns. Well, ok, so he's in the game a bit more than Joey, and has a better success rate. But he's still only human. He's also a probably more motivated than your average racer, but look at the backing he's got. Coaches, sponsors, doctors, dieticians, probably a hooker for a post race rub and tug. And if I see one more yellow wristband, I'm gonna be tossin' my bikkies.

Bugger. All my OV guys let me down. First Petrov gets chucked out for a blood irregularity, Popovych crashes, Menchov pops out the back faster than a vindaloo curry, then Vinekourov runs out of ticker.

Awesome display tho. Thought Rassmussen was spectacular after his escapades on stage nine. Might be an alps special in a year or two once he learns a few tricks.

[edit] Two Hors Cat tonite. McGee is not looking forward to them: "Just starting tomorrow is a scary thought. I don't even like to do the Galibier in training. I've done it five times in races and every time it has gotten the better of me."

I'm on base training for the next 5 weeks, seeing as how I need to lose large quantities of unmoveable lard. So no thrashing about for me for a little while.

Good luck with the interview

dunno, he probably got more than one I suppose when he held it, a couple of spares maybe? You wouldn't think he'd need to sell any though, but then again, he probably won't at that price.
