2) i have no problem with you wanting your name out there without people peeling off stickers. I also have no problem with soul on there as big or even as many times as you want. But soul faith is a little too much. Possible to not have a model name? Or atleast give it a name that isnt so directly related to soul and faith. I feel like i would need to carry around my bible on that thing. Not really a huge deal and wouldnt stop a purchase for me but it would be nice. Like i said i wouldn't care if it said soul a couple of more times instead.

I like the neutral main color (black), regardless of the weld color difference. I think the small color panels (your sample pics show red/white) would lend themselves to great customization for teams. So, for my white/blue kit, a white/blue "trim" would make the bike look very good with the team kit. Or my old team kit was blue/green, so blue/green trim would be good. I'd sacrifice the weight of an extra decal to have my bike match my team kit.
I think with the amount of sub-1000 gram frames out there, anodizing to keep weight down would be good. This keeps you in a very competitive range for frame weight. My frame is 1150 or so, and I don't see that as a handicap. At 1300-1400 grams, the perception will be that your frame is almost 1500.
I have to admit that I haven't been to the Soul site recently. I'm very impressed with the products you have for sale.
I also have to admit that I'm in no position to buy a frame/bike/whatever right now. I may be looking at wheels in the next year or two, but that's about it. The BB30 caught my eye since I am somewhat vested in BB30 (I have a BB30 SRM), hence I checked out this thread.
Geometry-wise I think you have a "normal" geometry, hits the middle of the range. I am proportioned a bit weird so it wouldn't work for me, but it seems like a pleasant mix of race/comfort geometry.
I hope you do well with the frame,
cdr

Ditto on the grinding down of the welds and getting them the same shade. Otherwise, I like the color and the graphics.
How hard would it be to tun the rear brake cable (top tube) on the inside?

Looks like the masses have spoken in regards to the finish. Will definitely work on the weld grinding but the difference in colour is unavoidable.
The model name will not be changed though. I think it's a little too late for that. Too many SOULs on the frame and people were complaining, I guess it's one of those you can't please everyone type of situations. Anyways the Faith word is not very noticeable.
In regards to the weight/ stiffness, the frame is optimised for stiffness first then weight. We could have gone for a smaller and round Top tube and downtube. That would have shaved about 100g off the frame. Instead we went for a bigger tapering tube which increased stiffness but obviously made it heavier. We will look into shaving a couple of grams by going with a thinner tube but it's already triple butted, I doubt we can shave that much off. At 1200g, it's already decently light for an alloy frame I feel. Any lighter also and we may end up with a coke can. It's definitely inline with the weight of a cadd. I predict the stiffness is very close if not more than a cadd, but can only confirm with a side by side test (anyone care to carry one out?)
Thanks to the mostly positive comments, I would just like to say that this frame owes a big part to the online community especially this forum.

I think CAAD9's are in the 1200-1300 g range for a medium sized frame (54 cm?).
That's without the BB30.
The frame looks great Sean!
I'm not buying one (already locked into a non BB30 crank), but I don't really care about the welds being a different color.
The 'Faith' logo on the bike doesn't bother me either. I think the decals are very tastefully done!

That may not be a final price, but should be in the ballpark.

Hi guys,
I guess it's been so long many people have forgotten, or are unaware. This frame will initially be offered as a groupbuy (check the groupbuy sub forum). The price will be lower than on our website, how much lower hasn't been determined as I want to package in shipping into the complete price.
We will definitely ship to Australia, I love you guys. (in a brotherly way).

You've been stringing this along for almost 11 months. Stop posting up teaser stuff and get to the details. If this time what you say is true -- that you will take orders by the end of August -- that means you should be able to post a price.
So, how much?

Sure he does, to the bikeforums community. Go read the group buy thread, timmy.
Sean shouldn't continue to post up something for sale as a group buy without 1) an actual product and 2) a price.
1) Still no fork. Still no finished product. Still only teasers. Still, these might be the weights. Still, we may or may not do this or that as a different finish. Still, we might have different graphics. This, we may or we might, has been going on for 11 months.
2) Again, no price, just adverstising. And a maybe we'll take orders this time (the third promise).

An 11-month-long-bait-and-switch group buy seems to confirm he is doing whatever he wants.
But you know timmy, you're right. Asking if 11 months is long enough to come up with a price seems a bit too forward. Thanks for the good advice, I'll move on and you can continue to police the thread.

Until all the specs are finalized, how can he provide an exact price if he doesn't know his exact cost? The ballpark price is the one on the website, we know it will be less for the Group Buy. That's really all you should need to know.

yeah, and figure that the fsa gossamer could be at least around $200 more on top of the frame.

hey deltasierra chill out and go hug another tree. i don't see you having a frame / fork being built, it takes time to make sure that stuff isn't going to break when some yahoo rides it off road thinking its a cross bike. also he's a small company and can't afford a law suit from our money hungery lawer's. how long did it take till the space shuddle took off after being shown tp public. i talk with sean every nite and he is a nice guy that cares about b/forum.

I don't like the brazed on barrel adjusters.
The matte finish is nice.
