When...okay if...I get my big job in the next couple of months, I'll be starting a new bike fund. I have no real need or immediate desire to upgrade, but I figure in a year or two when I get hit by the Ti bug or a serious crabon rig w/ zipps falls in my lap, I'll be in position to pick it up.

I am happy with the build on my Canyon, but I would love to swap the Moots out to Campy and add S&S couplers for easy travel. Still, I ride the Canyon 90% of the time so I guess I should say that there's no upgrade I currently feel is worth purchasing.

As inane as post #1 is, OP brings up an interesting topic.
No one need to upgrade their bikes.
The only function-based reason I can think of to alter one's bike is having a problem or dislike of the bike's current functionality, e.g. one's bike's fit, gearing, tire shock absorbency, wheel durability, etc. Something that can be radically altered.
Otherwise, it's just a matter of throwing money at the bike because one obsesses over it, e.g. upgrading to a new gruppo with the same shifter functionality and gearing, wanting a composite seatpost- don't tell me that new post actually "absorbs shock", getting more expensive tire of the same width and run at the same pressure.
I'm talking about the changes which bring benefits which many people are skeptical of.

If it's not broken don't fix it. Not wanting to upgrade just means you made a good purchase the first time.

Wouldn't shock me. He could be as juiced as all of them. I'm used to cheating in sports though. As you can see in my avatar, my favorite team has the greasiest coach out there.

Yes!! And I am ready for a lifetime and endless supply of suffering
To be honest, right now I have nothing I really really wished I would "upgrade". I have toyed with the idea of a set of LightWeight wheels, or maybe a couple of sets of Edge wheels, but no urge as of yet. Have been close to getting the LightWeights a couple of times, but no trigger pulling as of yet. Maybe if I actually saw a set first I would be pushed over the "edge", no pun intended.
