Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I can't believe you responded to an over 2yr old thread. Wow, took a while to get that out huh? Way to resurrect the "vitriol..."

This is constructive criticism.

well. when I first came here I assumed that I was among friends, I make that mistake often, in fact I am still getting that feeling, I get no such negative vibes on the gun boards forum, I guess its a matter of who is around, I cant always feel when I am rubbing someones fur the wrong way. bicycle people aren'tt as friendly as I thot, btw isn't that what moderators are for?

Moderators can't make people friendly ..... You just need to adapt to the style of this particular forum. Lots of jokers in here, that's all.
You can try the "General" forum too ... might be a bit tamer.

Who cares? We have clipless pedals now that are easy enough to get out of at every stop.

People are more polite on the gun forums because most of the posters are armed with deadly weapons.

I can probably do some bodily damage to someone with my bike but it would be hard to sneak up to someone and pummel them with my bike when I'm wearing shoes with cleats...

If you take the time to read the posts here you will notice people just have fun making snarky comments. If the OP has a good attitude some usually chimes in with a helpful answer. If the OP whines it's usually like blood in the water with a group of hungry sharks waiting to feed.

Almost every question that gets posted has an answer that can easily be found with a quick search of the forum or on google. Even better is to take a six pack to your favorite lbs every once in a while (assuming the employees are of age). I assure you after sharing a few good brews with the lbs employees they will answer any bike-related question with sincerity...

Seems like one of those situations that the Harden Up motto of BF applies to.
