Shorts/jeans and a tshirt or long sleeves if its cool out. I use CB pedals on all my bikes (Quattros on my roadie) so I am able clip in with my mtn shoes as well and not run the risk of slipping in the grocery store or a bar.

Tooling around? Me, I wear bibs with the shoulder straps above my Garmin-Chipotle jersey, and I drink toasts to surrounding motorists of lemon-lime gatorade from a large, salted margarita glass.

I mislike doing things half-@$$ed, being a tool most of all.

Jeans and a T, right leg rolled.

Maybe my Sidi's and fancy schmancy socks if I wanna clip in.

1+. Add a helmet, gloves and cycling shoes.

When I'm not riding seriously, I'm usually just getting around campus so I wear whatever I happen to have on, no cycling-specific gear unless I'm wearing a jersey because I'm waaaaay past due for doing some laundry.

Don't make fun of us who actually ride in cow suits.

I do ride in a cow suit every now and then. Normally I just wear athletic shorts, a tshirt, and mountain shoes on my cyclocross bike. (Helmet and underwear are included)

I use the Mtn bike and wear speedos w/ a light coat of oil. High speed/low drag baby!

I never tool around so I wear bibs and a jersey everywhere because you never know when someone challenges you to a race.

i ride some bike or the other as often as i can. the wife and i routinely go to the diner or little breakfast shop on the weekends by bike, in those cases we wear normal street clothes.

those are dedicated "tooling around" bikes though, with platform pedals.
